1 BRZ - Well Cooked!!

Ran across this 2015 BRZ on auction block. Wonder if its owner was on here.

I see a pair of rims, a rear bumper and a subaru badge that look totally salvageable.

Tis' but a flesh wound.

Kimsey47 05-18-2016 01:29 PM

I'd say that's probably one of the best weight saving modifications I've saw applied to our cars!

Was it a Scion masquerading as a BRZ hence toasted appearance...

justatroll 05-18-2016 02:24 PM

I saw the Toy badge as well and wondered if it committed hari kari by spontaneous combustion due to the internal conflict of not knowing it's true identity.

And the rear bumper cover looks perfect (too bad my brand new one showed up YESTERDAY at the dealership....)

Clipdat 05-18-2016 02:44 PM

Here's another one where it looks like the driver may have survived. Why do I say that? The driver's side of the roof line is still intact, and it looks like they jaws of life'd the person out.

I don't know where you're looking but I only see a pair of wheels, a rear bumper, and a badge that look salvageable.

Any pictures showing the seats are filtered to look overexposed. That is not a good prize.

Clipdat 05-18-2016 03:30 PM

It looks like they actually had to cut/remove a section of this seat:

What the hell happened that this car got this badly damaged? Was this guy going like 150mph or something?

A good wash and wax will make it look like new.

Likely the kind of mistake someone only gets to make once, sadly.

I need to turn some of these pictures into posters and put them up when the kids are learning how to drive....

wbradley 05-18-2016 06:02 PM

It's just a scratch, I am sure it will buff out.

Bman117 05-18-2016 10:59 PM

Im actually really surprised that the front tires are still intact... car fires burn very hot and usually does not take long to make them blow

See the word "Bio" written on the window? Any guesses what that means?

SLVRSRFR 05-24-2016 03:11 PM

Amazing that the exhaust ended up coming OUT the side of the car like that...

Still looks relatively intact too. Is that a Perrin?

Back in the day (sorry @humfrz ) when I was a little kid, in the early 60s my father would take me to the auto wreckers frequently. While he was drinking with/trying to figure out how to steal stuff with/from the staff I would go out and roam the yard. Now, keep in mind these were pre seat belt, crumple zone or any other type of modern safety device cars and what would be a minor fender bender today would pulp the passengers back then.

They marked all the cars that still had body parts or massive amounts of blood with a big red X on the hood and doors. I would climb through those cars and see what I could find. Teeth in the dash was pretty common and I bet I saw hundreds. Big sections of scalp with hair stuck to the shattered wind shields was also a normal find. The biggest parts I ever saw was an ear (all shriveled up but could tell what it was) and two fingers.

In hindsight it was an odd hobby and may explain quite a bit today.

mixtape 05-24-2016 04:02 PM

"BIO" might mean "biohazard". Considering how horrible and, as @Tcoat said, "pulping" this wreck looks, I think it's pretty reasonable to think that some part of someone got left behind.
