http://spda-online.ca/attachment.php...62591723&stc=1

Spots go on sale really really soon for the ATTS Beginner Friendly Track Day brought to you by SPDA-Online.

Experience the Driver Development Track at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park (Mosport). This is a challenging 2.8Km track, redesigned and rebuilt a year ago. To make this day extra special, we're providing coaching for newcomers to motorsports. This is not a racing event, but a fun day to spend with friends in a low key lapping event where you can safely enjoy the limits of your vehicles.

There will be 4 Run groups, broken out by Skill Level:
Beginner
Intermediate
Advanced
Coaches / Volunteers

Helmets are required.

We will have Alligator Lapping during lunch time so everyone can experience the track at a leisurely pace.

Registration:
http://spda-online.ca/content.php?16...t-Registration

There are limited spots available. Don't be left out. Register early for a discount:

Entry Fees:
Price $215 before May 29th / $240.00 After May 29th SPDA members deduct 20 dollars.

Lunch
+ $15 for lunch (CTMP catered lunch)

Sharing cars:
+ Full price for another driver in a different run group.
+ $40 for each additional driver in the SAME run group.

Refund Policy:
Refunds are available only if there there is someone in the waiting list for your run group to buy the position (inquire with SPDA). Registrations may not be privately re-sold, the registration will remain in your name. No refunds or cancellations within 1 week of the event.

I'll be out, unfortunately I won't have time to get all my current mods sitting on my shelves onto the car by then.

but it'll still be fun.

and I can pick Daniels brain about how his chumpcar build is coming along.

A bunch of cars following a lead car, driving at a slow pace to show you the line. Imagine ducklings following their mom.

^^ This! Alligator lapping is 100% free, and doesn't require helmets.

Registration is actually open now... I copied/pasted old info.

Why does this have to be so close to the CTDA day at DDT? Might have to pass on this one, but July I will definitely be there!

infinity21 05-15-2016 04:45 PM

I'll be there! I'm ready for some dry track days

Did they change the rules this year with ASN? I came without issue last year (and had a blast!) but this year I am getting quizzed on the roll over protection.

Seems like us stock S2000 owners are having a harder time getting in nowadays.

I might get stone-walled (thanks to the event insurance and by no means the SPDA) same as I did with OTA series.

wparsons 05-16-2016 02:49 PM

It's not just S2000's, it's any convertible. The ASN requirement is any convertible needs aftermarket roll over protection.

Not sure of the specifics of what changed last year to this year, but it's definitely being enforced more this year.

Oh I realize all convertibles - I was just me-centric :bonk:

That sucks - I'll probably get rejected all together then. Well, with the money I save not being able to go to SPDA DDT events, I can put it to half of a roll bar.

Time to do research...

mabviper 05-17-2016 12:29 PM

I'll be there for June 11 ^^

wparsons 05-18-2016 11:45 AM

Another HUGE showing by the FRS/BRZ crowd so far, well over half the registrants are FRS/BRZ's!

wparsons 05-24-2016 05:41 PM

Coming up soon, get a spot while you can!

Bar is well worth it, it may set you back around $1k (be sure to get the right one!!) but not worrying about tech ever again is

Oops and yup I'll be there June 11

I hear you but it won't be a stock S2000 anymore and for some reason I'm having a huge problem getting over that hurdle.

wparsons 06-02-2016 11:21 AM

Almost sold out, come out and play next weekend!

If you're not ready to commit to a track day, come say hi and do some FREE alligator lapping at lunch. No helmets needed for alligator lapping, and it's at a controlled slower pace.

1Cor10:23 06-02-2016 11:54 AM

@wparsons hey Will, are we allowed to bring in passengers along (w/ helmet) in advanced group?

As long as they have a valid helmet and have signed the waiver, yep.

Frost 06-02-2016 03:12 PM

This event alone is making me wish (just ever so slightly) that I bought the BRZ over the S2k.

But then I hit VTEC...

mabviper 06-03-2016 04:36 PM

I know there are a lot of twins coming to this event. I'm in the middle of prototyping a data acquisition system for the cars. It's along the lines of AIM data loggers but for poor ppl (me). It's a little fragile and somewhat hacked together for now but it works. Check out my sig for an idea of what it can record.

Is anybody interested in testing it out? It needs to be plugged into the OBD2 connector so if you have something else connected, I don't really have a splitter. I'll be testing it during my runs in the intermediate group.

I think I have a splitter and can bring it to DDT if you want

Trac Toy 06-03-2016 06:11 PM

Sounds cool. Is it just vehicle data or is it also doing lap timing?

mabviper 06-03-2016 06:30 PM

The unit doesn't do lap timing right now. I do that in post with dashware. I was thinking of putting that feature in before the day but I don't want to change it too much with the fear that it won't work at all that day lol. I also don't have the start and stop coordinates so I figured I'll be safe for this track day and go as is.

But yeah I agree... No rain!!

AC shuts off at WOT, doesn't get you much cool air on a track :D

There are a couple left in each run group, but it's almost full!

I'll take it for a couple laps if you want!

Rainy track days are amazingly fun! Definitely something everyone needs to do at least once.

drewbot 06-06-2016 10:58 AM

We're seeing a 40% chance of rain on Saturday...

Haha yeah, I'm sure. It's just been a while since I've been to DDT and I'm hoping to set some new PB's with the tweaks I've made over the off-season.
@wparsons btw, is there an attendance list available?

Only if you are with a safe group. I left mine early because it was making me stupid. But yes, racing in the rain is fun!
