By loosening my spark plugs a couple of turns, how many do u guys usually go? I did two last night and my car sounded mean, like a chopper😁

I have heard that the little square tiles that can be easily found glued to wheels make very good spark plug spacers to help reduce compression.

Trolling Troll is Trolling

or OP is just a moron.

Either way:

I am serious. And don't call me Shirley.

OP is trolling, unless he has a fundamental misunderstanding of what a compression ratio actually is.

I look at it this way, by allowing some of the combustion gases to escape wouldn't that effectively lower compression? Less pressure during the compression stroke equals lower compression ratio? Isn't that how engine work?

All I can say is, my car sounds more aggressive and ya'll wasted money on exhaust set up's when u could have just lowered compression.

Or in fenders, because boxer.

MisterSheep 05-02-2016 11:15 AM

When my buddy's friend's old car was boosted we would unscrew them 3 quarter turns and then take one completely out.

Tcoat 05-02-2016 11:16 AM

I blew a plug out of my 440 once. It is not pleasant at all!

Well by doing that you can run lower octane fuel. Just replace them with glow plugs and you can probably go diesel.

Take 2 eggs. Whip them around in a bowel. Fry in butter.

You're doing it wrong. Thats "smashed eggs," totally different food.

Actually I have a question, why do you want to reduce engine compression?

Another good reliable method to help reduce engine compression:
1. Take out say 2 spark plugs
2. Poke thin screw driver into the engine
3. Carefully locate piston crown and then hit screw driver with hammer to hole the piston crown
4. Re insert spark plug
5. You may need to change the oil so that piston head bits don't wreck the engine

ScoobsMcGee 05-02-2016 11:44 AM

At first I was worried that someone would read this and take it seriously. Now I'm to the point where if they do, they deserve whatever they get. Including salmonella poisoning.

Cuz I don't have money for a 2jz swap but low compression is life.

Bro stop trolling, everyone knows a screwdriver won't fit cuz boxer.

Ever tried one of those bent screw drivers?

Have you tried putting 87 octane in your car? I put 86 octane and the engine lets me know it lowered its compression.

Since then, I've always run 86 octane, but 87 should work just as well.

kevman_101 05-02-2016 03:14 PM

Your going about all wrong. Loosening the plugs is very inconsistent. Here's the secret to do it like the pros. Get a drill bit set and drill a hole through the head. Now be careful not to use a big bit at first or you might go too low compression like a scrub. Start small and go bigger to get that perfect compression. Also don't worry if ya hit a valve, they are actually just to add weight to the engine.

I will never forget the time I was playing baseball with some friends and the one kid picks up a bat and was completely serious when he asked if it was a left handed or right handed bat :bellyroll:

I have looked everywhere for octane reducer but can't seem to find any. Do you have it local there?

Never bothered to look as 86 octane was already readily available to me, but we should have some here.

Pro tip, just add sugar and flour to the gas tank, it'll reduce octane plus it smells like cake

Tectoniic 05-02-2016 06:00 PM

OP forgot the ultimate compression lowering trick. I removed my engine to bring the car down to a zero compression rating. I can now safely run infinite boost.

Checkmate high compression lovers
