anyone use these yet?

We just track tested these. Stop tech is out of stock of one of the brake line fittings. They're sweet though.

Past few years I have had tons of issues with stoptech and warping/vibrating rotors and had to had several RMA's to them, every since they got bought by centric parts I think their quality has gone down.

977.44016F Front kit $259 delivered from AJUSA.com. Currently out of stock, 1 week eta.

what is the difference between these rotors and the stock ones? just the slotting? or is vein design different? Seems kind of pointless to me to change the rotors unless they weigh a lot less or there is some other factor? Stock brakes work great with the proper pad on the track. I will be upgrading mine, but I'm almost more interested in the weight loss provided by the likes of the Essex kit than I am by the better pedal feel.

That is really about it, there street up is pretty rough when it comes to everyday driving and their rotors vibrated a lot (this was confirmed) so they sent me another pair which reduced vibration by about 80% but still some left over. I guess because its aftermarket. This was a few months after Centric took over but anyways I am not sure I would recommend them to most folks.

On the pads alone:

Performance brake pads (front & rear) for increased bite, increased temperature range, and less dust.

Rejor11 08-24-2012 02:19 AM

Honestly, they won't do that well for the track. Rear stoptech pads, yes, but not for the front. Get race pads for the front.

I do like the slotted rotors though.

jamal 08-24-2012 02:36 AM

The stoptech pads are great and much better than most of the other stock Subaru stuff. Higher MOT, a higher cf across the board, and great cold bite. And not very expensive.

The stoptech rotors are fine. They have a couple of different materials and their newest one is the 125. which is similar to the iron they use in the BBKs and has directional vanes in some applications. Whether these rotors are an upgrade over stock depends on if they are a slotted 120. rotor or a new 125. rotor with directional vanes. Also slots are generally helpful, especially for initial bite, especially when it is wet.
