All the weird acronyms
 

We use a lot of acronyms. It became a habit... BUT some acronyms, sometimes you say "What?" What's some of acronyms you heard that make you tilt your head?

Recent one for me is FUBAR... Fcked Up Beyond All Recognition

I could fill pages since the military runs on the damn things! There was one conversation I had with Cole that used about 10 real words through the whole thing everybody else was all WTF.
FUBAR has it's origin from the army as a matter of fact.




Couple of generic ones we could use here:
NFG - no fucking good
FNG - Fucking new guy

I've heard NFG as No Fuck Given

Maybe a new use but the NFG as no fucking good goes back to WW2. We even used to mark it on malfunctioning equipment in a quasi official manner. It may have actually stood for something official once upon a time.

Wait, wait, wait... you were fighting in WW2? How old are you now? jk :lol:

Hadnt heard NFG before but FUBAR is a go to for me. FNG is a good one that I never really use but should haha

NFG gets written in big letters on rejected parts at my work.

I am actually very surprised that it isn't better known. Maybe it is more a Canadian/Military thing. Every place I have ever worked had something marked as NFG.

And for some reason it doesn't get thrown out for like three years.

I've heard SOP before. iirc it's military term.

It's either a Will Smith xxx parody, or Apple stepping into the adult market.

This is one I use almost everyday at work.

Aviation is full of SOPs and a ton of other acronyms lol.

Pretty much anything is really.
I know that people have lefta meeting where a bunch of engineers and I have been discussing a project and said afterward "I didn't understand a word of what happened there".
Sometimes just sounds like we all have some rare form of alphabetic Tourettes and are spouting random things!

Afaik i dont use many acronyms.
