CHEAP MOD
This is for all those folks who can't justify 1,000's of dollars for mods that might get you 10 or 15 hp, but would love to find out about something cheap that provides positive results. Several companies sell ratcheting bars with pads on the ends for separating and/or securing cargo in pickup beds. They're pretty much horizontal jacks you can load in tension between the walls or wheel wells of a pickup truck. They sell for $40 or $50. These bars can be used between the shock towers of the BRZ/FRS to provide added stiffness without paying big bucks for bolt-in braces. I picked one up at Northern Tool and Equipment mostly to give me something to attach loose cargo to and prevent it from sliding around. I was pleasantly surprised to find it actually added a noticeable amount of stiffness to the rear of my car and decreased rattling going over large bumps. I'm sure many will say this couldn't possibly provide any noticeable benefit, but you'd only be out 40 bucks or so for something that will help secure loose items in the trunk even if you don't feel the improvement I do. |

Just put the $40 toward a Grimspeed front strut tower bar that actually does something. There's no need for a rear strut tower bar.

I'd rather spend $40 on a stripper. That's a cheap mod.

I always find it funny when someone says "I want a STi"
I usually ask if they want something treatable or permanent... -alex |
Would have been better just riding bicycle around. Why even spend money to buy a car ? What a waste of money

But if you catch it through sex, I can't see how you could catch it without being infected. Because if you weren't infected, how would sex transmit it to you? |

I will now ignore this site for many days....

Wait a minute; what I MEANT to originally post was that I just spent the last year and a half removing and disassembling the front subframe of my car and rebuilding it in titanium, molybdenum, and carbon fiber after 6,748 manhours of labor and $28,942.00 of materials and I took the car to MIT where they measured the torsional stiffness and found it had increased 0.8934%. Please PM me if you would like my 8gig step-by-step pictorial documentation of this awesome mod.
