Frs with air ride

So I ordered my air ride setup and have read that some people are having issues with wheel fitment. I'm looking to get some rpf1's 18x9.5 +38 and was wondering if I'd have rubbing issues on the bags.

I don't believe so..... I know those wheels wont rub on the stock strut setup.

you might still rub. im at 18x9.5 +20 and its perfect. the gap between bags and wheel is still close but clears,

wtfrs 03-13-2016 08:34 PM

I'm running a 17x9 +25 with the least amount of camber and I can barely run my finger through aired out so about 10mm of clearance.

What! How! I'm at the same specs and my fronts are rubbing I needed spacers, but now it's rubbing my fender too much I'm at a paradox here!

I'm 18x9.5 +20 on 235/40 tires and I rubbed my front bags a lot, I'm running -1 camber and looking to add more. I added a 5mm spacers to clear the bags and it solved the problem just be careful of your fenders cause mine are fucked right now.

Ditto, how are you running that fitment without rubbing fender or bag?

LXXXV1 03-14-2016 12:04 PM

This is exactly why I want to get rid of my bags lol. I bought them before doing fitment research...either I get new wheels, or sell my bags.

all4spl 03-14-2016 04:27 PM

Damn so what size wheel fits front with no issues lol

18x9.5 +20f/+25r
215/35f 225/35r
-4 all around
It was hard for me to get this fitment but with a lot of adjusting you can make it work. I had to put a few neg camber on the top hat first, just enough so u dont rub on the frame bc if u max out the top hat u will rub against the frame. and the rest of the neg camber i got it adjusted with camber bolts, just enough so i have clearance with wheel to bag. now i air out on lip to fender

all4spl 03-14-2016 04:30 PM

Does the bag hit the tire or the rim? I was thinking maybe a 225 on the 18x9 with possible 5mm spacer if needed. I have standard fenders but can get rolled if needed.

18x9 is a better choice than 18x9.5. just make sure your offset will be around 20. i had a set of wheels 18x9.5 +34 with 15mm spacers and 225/35 up front, i didnt had any problems with rubbing but you wont be able to air out all the way, the fender will just rest on the tires.

all4spl 03-14-2016 04:56 PM

My goal is to be able to air out completely and not touch the tire/hardly touch it.

wtfrs 03-14-2016 08:15 PM

https://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Whee...et-Calculator#

Use that calculator, on my 17x9 +25 I am not even close to touching when aired out or driving and I drive with a one finger gap in the front. You have some camber play on the strut and knuckle bolts.

Also I am running the factory 215/45 michelins and the fender sits on the tire.

well it depends on how you want ur car to look aired out. some dont mind fender resting on tires and some do. i didnt like my fender resting on my tires so i had to tinker with the camber adjustment.

Codythatsme 03-15-2016 05:50 AM

I'm running 18x10 +20 wrapped in 225/40 and only just get clearance on the front bags.

Aesthetic reasons only or is there some danger in fender on tyre when aired out?

Uh not sure what u mean haha but its basically for aesthetic reason to achhieve lip to fender look or tuck look. I just know that if u do air out on ur tires it could pull our ur fender it sidemarker popping out

all4spl 03-18-2016 04:54 PM

okay so I got wheels at 18x9 +33 and was looking to get the 12mm spacers so that would put me at 18x9 +21. is my car going to need any fender work to fit these? Tire size, I am looking at 215/35/18. Thanks guys! I'm looking to be able to put fender at the rim lip. (tucking tire)

frs_94 03-24-2016 07:39 PM

any help is appreciated

@all4spl I'm currently running 18x9.5 +35 with AirLift performance series and I only rub when airing out and not at all while driving or turning. I had to leave about 2 inches of tread on the front strut in order not to rub though, also I am running -1 chamber.
