Hit and run on my FRS yesterday

Sad news. My FRS was hit in the parking lot of my work yesterday. Rear bumper and right rear quarter took the hit. Lucky I was parked in view of a camera but couldnt make out a plate number on the car who hit me and they didnt leave a note! Dropped it off today to be fixed so hopefully it will all be good soon but still sucks!

mpicher 06-29-2012 08:16 PM

People suck.

markmatley 06-29-2012 08:17 PM

Oh for the love of.... why would anyone hit your car! Its so obvious that its SMEXY and doesn't need to be driven near. Hopefully you get the insurance money and get the guy/girl that did the hit and run! Get well soon FRS!

shadoquad 06-29-2012 08:19 PM

BURN THE HERETIC :paddle: :fighting0040:

I hate people that hit and run!

anteater86 06-29-2012 08:19 PM

There's a lot of envy out there towards FR-S owners!

What's up with that??! :mad0260:

shadoquad 06-29-2012 08:21 PM

I'd bet it was pure incompetence or negligence rather than envy or malice.

And then they drove away like scared children.

Sometimes I wish I was one of these people, the type that couldn't possibly give less of a damn about an automobile. The type of people who hold their multiple thousand dollar vehicle in the same regard as their refrigerator and their dishwasher. The type of people that buy the most beige, numb, and disconnected vehicle on the market because they prefer not to be distracted by the road while they mindlessly chatter away on their cell phones about nothing of consequence. The type of people who think that big, heavy, lumbering vehicles are the greatest thing since sliced bread, not because you can avoid accidents in them altogether, but because you can simply plow through them.

Then I realize what bleak, dull lives that these types of people must live and I start to feel sorry for them - until I'm handed the bill for the repairs that they necessitated.

Get a copy of the video and post it online, possibly with a reward. CRAIGSLIST.com is usually a great place to post in your local area.

I have a video and I was clearly parked at least 5 spots from any other car. Someone was checking it out and straight up hit it....then just drove off.

Insurance is taking care of the whole thing but still a pain in the ass. Stuck driving a Volvo station wagon for at least 10 days.

eriktherod 06-30-2012 02:15 PM

Was it a black 350Z? Kidding. That does suck though! :( I'm always worried that I'll park next to somebody who doesn't care and come out to see something bad and them gone.

Do you have pictures of the damage?

DarrenDriven 06-30-2012 02:35 PM

member "Zach" also had his car hit two days ago here in Portland. Just a small dent in the fender, but no less annoying!

Post that video up!

You couldn't get the plate, but could at least tell what kind of car it was? If this was at work, surely the same car will be there other days as that person works there too.

Wicked Wookiee 06-30-2012 11:35 PM

This is a shame... for any new car really. But especially in this case.

Hit and runners are just afraid. Insurance, cost, blame, etc. People need to own up to their mistakes. It builds character.

Bonburner 06-30-2012 11:41 PM

I really feel you pain, I want to cry and just break things ..

kanundrum 07-01-2012 12:12 AM

In experienced drivers tend to steer in the direction thier head turns, and the longer the head is turned the more the steer....

Some one was staring at your car until they smacked it and ran away.

Bonburner 07-01-2012 12:17 AM

lol @ the CSI.

WolfsFang 07-01-2012 12:23 AM

vividracing 07-02-2012 12:03 PM

Tommi 07-02-2012 12:41 PM

At least you have video. Normally, if the at-fault driver can't be identified, then it's documented as a not-at-fault collision claim, which would still be subject to your collision deductible. However, even though the other driver can't be identified, there is at least video evidence that someone else did it, so there is a possibility that you might get a cool claims adjustor who will document it as a UMPD claim (even though it's not supposed to be).

If they catch the guy add on a ton of cash for the emotional damage of having to drive, not just a Volvo, but a station wagon at that.

You must have taken this directly from my brain!
