New Rep Here for HKS!

Hi guys! I know Scott@HKSUSA has been in contact with many of you guys to discuss HKS products, especially the V3 Supercharger kit. I wanted to let everyone know Scott left the company to pursue new opportunities, and I'm taking over for him!

I've asked the admins to disable PM's to Scott's account so questions don't go unanswered, so from this point forward, please direct your questions to me instead. We're working on trying to clear up Scott's old inbox, but if you sent a question to Scott and don't get a response, please send it to me!

Looking forward to being on this forum with you guys. Thanks!

Not anytime soon. The V3 hasn't been out that long!

I have a question regarding the HKS Legamax Premium Cat Back exhaust system. How come everywhere I see it being listed for sale it shows it only for the BRZ? When they are the same car?

wbradley 02-29-2016 07:52 PM

I hear the V5 will be worth the wait for anybody holding off for ths 2018 model refresh ;)

I hope Scott didnt go thru a wood chipper Fargo style, he was a pretty regular poster here.

No, he left on good terms. I think he was just tired of working. But on that same note, if you guys spot threads where he was active in (or any thread really) that I may miss where someone could use my help, don't hesitate to send me a link!

It fits both. Do you mean this one?

If you're referring to where it just says BRZ under product description, it's because that data is automatically generated and just pulling from the first application it fits. It's under both the Scion and Subaru categories if you drill down by make and model.

Does HKS have a facility in Madison heights?

It is where the HKS USA office and warehouse is, but there is no store front.

@Torry@HKSUSA Do you guys still have sparkplugs for the FRS?? I thought I remember seeing them a while back but haven't seen them since?

 I was actually thinking about something besides a storefront.

A full list of our plugs is here: http://www.hksusa.com/spark-plugs-1/

The stock FR-S plug replacements are 50003-M45HL.

Awesome! Thanks for the quick reply!! Now what benefits do your spark-plugs offer vs OEM? I noticed that the OEM plugs have the 3 prongs and yours looks like a traditional 1 prong? And they are both iridium tip as far as I can tell.

HKS plugs are Iridium tipped, single prong.

Our plugs have a platinum chip that improves durability and increases ignition performance. They also have a shortened electrode, which decreases weight, which in turn provides less vibration and therefore improves longevity of the electrode.

Decreased voltage requirements also ensures the plug still fires under harsh environments like lean conditions and high boost.

Thanks for the info :) So your plugs are comparable to OEM in terms of life as well I am assuming??

Yes. In my personal opinion, plugs are pretty much plugs, so long as you have good quality ones. So I would say they are very comparable to other Iridium plugs on the market. It's not like you're going to gain a ton of horsepower by switching brands of plugs, but at least by having HKS plugs you know the ones in your car are of good quality and not going to break up and fail.

Well said. Yeah I am not looking for power from plugs haha, just consistency and reliability. Thanks for all the info

At this time, the tuning software is only available for 13-14 model years. We are working on a solution for 15+ but we do not have it yet.

Hey @Torry@HKSUSA I can't find a dyno chart for the v3 supercharger kit with RPM and HP, only MPH and HP. Can you provide us such a chart? I'm trying to compare your kit with SCs and turbos

15004-AT011

For the hks oil cooler it mention on your product description modification to radiator support and resin, what actually need to be modified? Why is the pricing different on the three products of oil cooler, is one more special than the other?

15004-AT008 - This one is discontinued. We're currently working on identifying discontinued products and cleaning up what's listed on our website but we haven't gotten to this one yet.

15004-AT010 - This one is for a NA car and is a front mount oil cooler

15004-AT011 - This one is a side mount for fitment on a forced induction car (clears up space in the front of the radiator)

For what actually needs modified, refer to the installation instructions. I've attached both the AT010 and AT011 instruction manuals for reference. English is in the 2nd half of each manual.
