Just tested out our new Dy-37 18x9.0 +35 for FRS. Should look awesome once its dumped and with some nice tires. 3 inch step lip, and of course bringing some old school feel to a new car

RRnold 06-28-2012 08:42 PM

Damn, those look just like Racing Hart Type C's! I miss those wheels.

http://image.superstreetonline.com/f...art_type_c.jpg

yoshiharadesign 06-28-2012 08:45 PM

Actually the type c were a reverse lip, but on our wheel, the lip section is a step lip design that goes back to more old school look. With a step lip, gives it a more multidimensional feel. In addition, the center caps dont have the big imitation center lug nut, making it more modern. So a combination of new and old design elements for a new wheel, perfect for a car that is paying homage to the old ae86. The only design element is probably really the holes on the side of the caps. But overall we are really pleased to have pieced together and creating a new design from wheels of yesterday. like nodding to the past and looking towards the future ;) The key has been with our designs to have something for everyone, young and old. The Yoshihara line up has been mainly created to incorporate many design elements past personal favorite wheel designs from Dai.

Wow, these actually look awesome. Cant wait to see results!

i see trouble! manual specifically said not to use the supplied oem jack unless it is really a emergency

i would use a alligator jack and some jack stands if i were you

Yes there was a slight emergency as we all couldn't wait to see how it fits on the car;)

knockoff of the Takechi Project Type-C (with the exception of the stepped lip), but I'd still rock these 'cause I loved the Type-C.

ultra 06-29-2012 04:53 AM

Moat pics!

What do they weigh in at per wheel?

kinryu 06-29-2012 05:21 AM

More pix please! I like itt!
What's the offset?

yoshiharadesign 06-29-2012 10:26 AM

The offset is at +35 18x9.

MattR 06-29-2012 10:54 AM

Hot Lava is the perfect color to rock a throwback old-school look.

Super-wide isn't my style, but those wheels look bad ass. Can't wait to see the finished set up.
:happy0180:

kinryu 06-29-2012 11:53 AM

Would a 35 offset fit in the front?

Thank you. I know its easier to say its a knockoff but the only design element visually is the holes on the side of the caps :) This time around, no big center lug nut :) Everything else is different. But we really wanted to make a wheel that is new but familiar at the same time :)

yes, with an aggressive drop and a tad of camber no problem.

The weight of the wheel is actually not super light. It comes in at roughly around 23-5lb depending on the pad thickness. This wheel though design wise cant be super light weight because of the step design element. For a lighter weight set up, we have the d-12c which at 18x8 is at 19lbs. This wheel is available already through discounttiredirect.com. Again, each one of our initial designs are meant to appeal to each type of enthusiast. If you want to have a light weight wheel that is light on the wallet as well, the D-12c is a great wheel. Our philosophy behind Dai's wheel line up is to have great looking and performing wheels at an attainable price with high quality since Dai really identifies with his fans and knows not everyone can afford super high priced wheels.

poormans_LFA 06-29-2012 02:04 PM

D-12C looks good AND it comes in 5X100!! Nice!!

We made sure its dedicated for the 5x100 crowd so that the its design keeps clean from the notorious 10 hole syndrome ;)

Razz 06-29-2012 11:04 PM

Tire width is too narrow for wheel

poormans_LFA 06-29-2012 11:16 PM

Sits up a bit high, but I bet after a little dump it will perfect-O. Please do share more pics after your friend installs the coilovers/lowering springs.

yoshiharadesign 06-29-2012 11:20 PM

U mean the Fronts or rear? 225/40r18. 245/35r18. Of course the set up if people want to can be bigger;)

Indeed. It is still on stock springs, once dropped we will shoot another official photo;).

I second that. Who are your distributors? I looked on the Yoshihara Design website, but the only place I was linked to was Discount Tire.

Snoopyalien24 06-29-2012 11:54 PM

The d12c's look great too

jeez that pic is huge

Z86 06-30-2012 12:42 AM

Can you post some profile pics before the drop - like to see how much poke they have before you drop.
Any clearance issues/rub with the standard suspension?

With yoshihara design it's currently only available through discount tire since Dai has been a champion driver for them. If you check discounttiredirect.com, under shop by brand, the dy-37 without pictures is available and the price is present there. The d-12 is also available as well. Check out the link. http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...=Car%2FMinivan

Will have profile pics soon. No clearance issues at all. Good fit and clearance even with standard set up and with just lowering spring still wouldn't be an issue. 18x9 is most ideal as it will clear on normal spring set up or coilover

denkigrve 06-30-2012 10:28 AM

Nice, how long does it normally take to get the wheels from DiscountTire since they are special order? I'm trying to get a set of the D12s before July 14th. I like them better than any of the other budget conscious wheels I've seen.
