List:

Hi Everyone,

Whilst the site Admins are trying to find the opti coat group buy thread that they deleted, just wanted to let you know that it is still running.

Option 1: $390 for pure paint protection.

Option 2: $420 for paint, glass, plastics, headlights and tail lights (by far the most popular option).

I have personally done over 30 Toyota 86's and 4 BRZ's since June, with many more still in the pipe works. The reason that I have mentioned this is that experience plays a major role in which flaws to look out for, to ensure a perfect job every time.

BMW in the USA Opti-Coat's every vehicle before it is delivered to the customer.

Optimum Compounds and Polishes are used on the assembly line by many manufacturers.

Stay away from the gimmicks! This is a tried, tested and proven product in the real world!

@Frank @ BrightShine is the one you want to talk too. I'm not sure if this is really a group buy thing though, his prices are reasonable and he comes to you (your house).

Even though it would be nice to have multiple 86's parked outside my house i'm sure my neighbours wont like it.

just86 06-28-2012 08:21 PM

not gonna happen lol

FT86_Zero 06-28-2012 08:23 PM

Let me try to contact Frank...I've spoken to him, the price for the Opti Coated is $420

Skorov 06-28-2012 08:25 PM

I am interested in the Opti-coat, but like Toy86 said, this doesn't look like the kind of thing you can group buy. But I'm happy to drive me car somewhere if this does actually go ahead.

FT86_Zero 06-28-2012 08:26 PM

BTW, for the Tint....

Darkest legal top of the range $265.00
Kind Regards

Jeff Cureton
Director

From: www.tintwizard.com.au

I will also contact Jeff in relation to the group buy.

Yes, I understand that. I am just trying to win possible benefit for all you guys here.

Anyway, if I am the provider, I’d like to offer some discount for group buy, even $20 off, which could be more attractive, and it will be good free advertisement. How do you think?

Surok 06-28-2012 08:38 PM

well it is business that he would not otherwise get
i know alot of us are planning on tint and opticoat

Nardi330 06-28-2012 08:40 PM

anything is better than nothing!!

Ok. Let me know how it goes. Not saying I'm in 100% just yet, but keep me informed.

any particular reasons? How much does Dave charge?

ChocolateNick 06-28-2012 09:08 PM

I might consider it if there is a Melbourne group buy.

Isometric Bacon 06-28-2012 09:18 PM

Anyone got a good recommendation for a Opti-Coat detailer in Adelaide? There's three 'approved' detailers as listed on the Opti-coat site.

Just wondering if anyone has had any personal experience.

sticky 06-28-2012 09:26 PM

I'm interested in this too - but will probably only get an opportunity to do it in September.

BTW can we keep this a Sydney thread. OP can you change title of your thread to Sydney, it that's ok?

He quoted me something like $470 for the paint protection + $150 for the decontamination which everyone else seems to do for free.

I believe if I successfully get the group buy confirmation from Frank/Jeff, what we should do is just to put a deposit for your interest. Therefore, whenever you pick up your car, you can get this group buy benefit as long as you are on the list and pay the deposit in advance.

proficience 06-28-2012 09:44 PM

the problem is this is that everyone will be getting their cars at different times.

I don't know about you guys, but I'd definately want to get mine done as soon as I get my keys...

EDIT: ^ Hmm... I guess that would work

dangerfield 06-28-2012 09:46 PM

I want to get mine opticoated in the next week or so :)

I know Drew.......So, hopefully I can get an answer by today, so you will be the first one :PPPP

shaoster 06-28-2012 10:25 PM

Certainly would be tough to organize a group buy, seeing how most of the people here don't even know when they are going to get their cars or it varies from now till 2013.

Maybe the guys can offer a small discount if we mentioned ft86club forum and their username?

click_lenny 06-28-2012 10:36 PM

opti coated & tint is 100% sure, count me in if there is a group buy deal......BUT gonna wait till Oct for my 86....

he has worked on one of my cars before, and did a very good job.

I trust him, and i know he will do the right thing if anything goes wrong.

so he will always be my choice for detailing in sydney.

Ok, thanks for sharing the information :)

So would you like to contact him to see if you'd like to do a group buy and get a quote??

Frank @ BrightShine 06-28-2012 11:12 PM

Hi Guys,

I'm watching this thread - I'll reply in detail tonight once I return home. Detailing a show car for a magazine shoot at the moment so just dont have enough time right now.

Hang tight.

Frank

Thank you so much Frank.:wub::wub:

HER86 06-29-2012 12:25 AM

I'd be in for the Opti-Coat but am getting tint done by the dealer. Was thinking about getting the Opti-Coat done by Frank anyway so any kind of small discount is a plus!!

Toy86 06-29-2012 12:28 AM

Thanks Frank, Look froward to seeing your reply

nix 06-29-2012 01:24 AM

I don't think this thread should be stickied when it's not an actual group buy yet. Plus even then it should specify city/state etc. it's not like he can ship his service around the country. EDIT - first post is changed now.

For opticoat in Adelaide I spoke to DandS tint and they seemed like they knew their shit, but they're in between moving premesis for the next few weeks. Was approx $800 for full prep/claybar, opticoat and premium tinting.

Frank @ BrightShine 06-29-2012 02:51 AM

EDITED

Speak to Elite Finish. They don't do tints but they are very thorough.

OK guys.

As some people have mentioned before it is extremely difficult to offer a group buy at a substantial discount due to the nature of my operation and the ability to only do 2 cars a day MAX. This ensures that I have sufficient time to perfect my work and leave happy with the job I have performed.

I am also substantially cheaper than 90% of the Opti Coat dealers Australia wide. The way my business is set up is to make money off volume rather than a single customer - and the profit margins for applying Opti Coat arent as large as you would think.

Another problem is 90% haven't received their vehicles yet - and deliveries are scattered throughout the year.

So I'm going to offer two options and hopefully keep it simple.

1. Mention you found me through this forum, quote your username and I will Opti Coat your 86 for $390.

2. Or I will add value to your deal and Opti Coat your wheels, plastics and rubbers, side/rear glass and headlights/tail lights at no extra cost (coating the windscreen is illegal therefore I will not endorse it)

For anyone that has already booked their vehicles in with me, I will apply the discount automatically or add value as you wish.

How does that sound?

Frank

Sounds pretty damn good!!

Thanks very much for this. It was between you and one other detailer and you just got yourself one more customer
I'm sure you'll get a lot of business from here.

Expect a call from me in early August to set up a time.

Thanks again.

Palmy 06-29-2012 04:09 AM

See you in septermber Frank

Toy86 06-29-2012 04:51 AM

Thanks for the update Frank, I will be sure to be calling you when the time comes

Sambalam 06-29-2012 07:11 AM

Option 2 sounds perfect, hope to make the trip down the F3 in October to have this done

xeri 06-29-2012 07:33 AM

Whyyyy aren't you in melbourne :(
