TRD Japan seats for 86
Just wanted to open up a discussion about these seats.
https://www.japanparts.com/parts/detail/41905 http://s1.cdn.autoevolution.com/imag...-gallery_6.jpg The most beautiful seats IMO for our cars. It's part of my build plan but being as I am in the united states, more specifically northern california, I haven't been unable to find anyone who has these seats. They look like a semi-bucket seat and curious as to what it might feel like for myself and other passengers. |

as mentioned on Japanparts.com
* One-touch reclining mechanism (40-stage adjustment) is equipped. * Hip point locates almost same position as standard seat. * Side airbag to be canceled when TRD seat is installed. Not sure what they mean when they mention the hip point. I am not sure- They do look like they sit at a similar height to stock, and it uses bottom mounts. I myself would prefer a seat that sat lower for better ergonomics(for me) and helmet clearance. The leg bolsters on the seats do look longer with a raised angle and the end which I like. Unknown fitment is the worst part, Japanese seats are usually on the narrow side. I would try to find out if there is a size chart and if the left and right side seats have the same features. Also find out if the mounts/sliders are included. |

I'll send an inquiry to japanparts asking about the product to ask your same questions. |

If you wanna test em out, go to Cusco USA HQ (SoCal) and they have Bride Stradia on display you can prob sit in. Or ask em to sit in their STI (Driver side), iirc they still have Stradia in the STI. |

Joke on the side, that's the spec for me. & I seriously loved it! I just sat TRD ver seat (cuz I was a judge for the car show), but I drove Cusco USA' STI which equipped w Bride Stradia & man, they're comfy driving with. If I had enough money to spent on the interior, I'll gladly fork over on these seats. TBH it's cheaper just buy Bride ver than TRD ver. If you like the TRD seat cover design more, you can always custom upholster from local shop. Hope that help you answer some questions |

They look nice, but i'd rather put those $3k approx into trading in my current car and buying the 2017/2018 one in and just buying sexy $500-700 car seat covers.
Just me. |
I think they look awesome and I initially drooled over them, but I feel that the price (and mind you, I bought the TRD intake and exhaust) is just too excessive for what it is. I feel like you can get so much more for that kind of money and it can still look really nice. Being that they are from TRD, Im betting they aren't very lightweight, but I don't know what the weights are.
