What if lexus got the 86/ subie made sti brz?

Toyota would have gotten the base model, lexus gotten the premium. Then Subaru the base and sti model

Follow me on this, a year ago, lexus came out with an is250 f sport turbocharged, and is350 f sport awd.

Toyota paired with a company that is notorious for turbo and awd. Why the f*** didn't they do this to the 86? Ppl have been asking for more power since car came out 4 years ago!

Would sales have been better?

Is this possible now/ that scion is gone?

Did they already have plans of scrapping scion to begin with, if so why did they badge the 86 a scion in North America?

Can we make it happen?

well Subaru has already said they won't add power. why would they jeopardize sales on their wrx? you slap a turbo and awd into an 86 and you are also adding 10k+ to the sticker and then everyone bitches that it's too expensive...then since you are adding factory FI, much more R&D is needed to make sure this is something that isn't going to grenade in 50k miles and risk ruining their reputation. as for lexus picking it up, highly doubtful just because they wouldn't want a car that creeks and rattles all the time in their lineup. adding a motor won't make it a "lexus" in my opinion. the car is perfect for the money in my opinion. if you want it to be faster, drop 5-6k and slap in a SBD turbo/oil cooler/etc. and you've got a bargain for power to weight.

Why is this so hard for everyone to comprehend? The twins were designed to be a cheap fun to drive sports car. Lexus is not about "cheap" cars and IMHO the lexus bumper looks absolutely terrible on this body.

The main segment of people who actually bought this car have not been asking for more power. A lot of us would have liked it but most people bought the car knowing it would not have a lot of power or they could add it themselves down the road. The majority of people asking for more power in the stock car would not have bought it even if did have more power.

For the millionth time, best of luck to you finding a car that is rwd, unique chassis, LSD, turbo, meets EPA MPG requirements, and all under 30K new.

Went to a carshow with my girlfriend. We sat in a Lexus RC-F. She said it felt exactly like sitting in the FR-S, just fancier.

Of course the RC-F doesn't have anything to do with the FR-S but Lexus has a RWD sports coupe.

Because that's not what Toyota had in mind. Simple as that. Want turbo and AWD? Get a WRX/STI.

^ This I don't get why people think they are going to give the FRS more power. I don't see the point in going through more R&D and using higher quality parts (bring costs up) to add extra power to a sports car in such a niche market that is slowly losing sales. Just my 2 cents.

I like twins the way it is. Its priced right and is a fun to drive and I highly doubt lexus adding this platform into thr lineup. If I want tons of power and got money to burn, I would have gotten gt350r or something else.

People are already crashing these car even with 200hp motor. Just image how many more crashes will happen if high powered version of these car are released and all these wannabe showoff kids gets there hands on it who doesn't know how to drive. The twins are already classified as high premium slot by insurance companies due to soo many people crashing it.

on a side note: this reminds me of the wannabe drift kid at my job with the mustang who crashed his ride on his way home last week trying to be cool and totaled the car....lol...kids!!!

The best way I can describe the twins in this context is they are the anti Lexus. You probably couldn't make them further from being a Lexus in every way even if you tried.

Much like the Bugatti Veyron it would be an exercise to prove that it could be done as apposed to whether it made any financial sense to do so. Amusingly enough Lexus already did it with the LFA anyway.
