DaJo 06-28-2012 03:12 AM

A 2nd wrecked already??...What happened man?... I would drive these like ferraris...lol

rice_classic 06-28-2012 03:15 AM

The clear bra did not protect very well from THAT debris.

TuxedoCartman 06-28-2012 03:15 AM

Umm... at least you merely debadged it, and didn't go with the hard-to-get Toyota JDM badges? SILVER LINING, FOR THE WIN!!!

Seriously, though, what happened?

Frsx 06-28-2012 03:20 AM

Guy ran a Red light (speeding) long story short and i locked up my brakes from going around 15 mph... clipped the very front of my car. All cosmetics mostly. Front bumper, right light need replaced completely. His car got T-boned by me he blew out 3 tires back right rim bent in bad where i clipped him.
But...
It could have been way worse if i wouldnt have braked, as in him actually hitting me and putting me in the hospital. Im Very Thankful.

eriktherod 06-28-2012 03:48 AM

I about hit two people today as well, not yielding to green on their left turns. I don't know what was up with people today...

Sorry about your loss but that looks fixable at least. Moral of the story, careful on fresh green and don't play chicken with red lights.

Hope to see her like new soon, though getting parts is going to be rough...

Frsx 06-28-2012 03:50 AM

Its this RETARDED Heat man. And its only about to get Much more hot out soon.. 109 here in nashville soon. :/

Frsx 06-28-2012 03:57 AM

Man, that sucks, but glad to hear you're okay and the car's fixable.

Oh, and by the way... welcome to the forum! :happy0180:

tdoggy57 06-28-2012 05:40 AM

Got any pictures of the car in good shape debadged? I haven't seen one yet besides without the FR-S on the back.

Shagaliscious 06-28-2012 06:16 AM

 Good to hear you are ok, and the accident wasn't your fault. Did you get a quote from your insurance? I would be interested in how much a smaller accident like this would cost.

the_3d_man 06-28-2012 07:51 AM

Neutral must be so happy. He's no longer the only one in the spotlight.

hyper4mance 06-28-2012 08:05 AM

Glad you are ok. Hope everything works out.

adprokid 06-28-2012 08:08 AM

Lol must not be used to good brakes? I dont think they locked more than they just stopped the car instantly. :)

Sigh-on-Rice 06-28-2012 10:20 AM

That sucks. Glad you're ok.

serith 06-28-2012 10:21 AM

Glad you're okay. That hurts to see though.

b.e 06-28-2012 11:14 AM

Glad you had great response times. Curious to see all that front-end damage, yet the lights are all still intact.

Cudgel 06-28-2012 11:46 AM

That sucks but good to know no one was injured. At least the damages are only cosmetic. Time for 5Axis lip or TRD front? :D

Rabble 06-28-2012 01:05 PM

Just FYI, the hood is aluminum so it is going to be super expensive to replace. However it looks like the only damage is to the bumper, so they'll probably replace the bumper and the headlights, any bits behind the bumper that got damaged, and repaint to color match.

Shouldn't be more than $2000 after labor & tax.

Heading to Slammed Enuff's meet in Memphis when that was took in the caravan.

And ill be getting a quote sometime today.

RRnold 06-28-2012 02:52 PM

Damn that sucks! Cool that you're alright and at least the damage isn't as bad as neutral's accident.

Now your FR-S looks like it's smiling with some chipped teeth!

Bristecom 06-28-2012 02:56 PM

Yeah, looks like you'll just need a new bumper and bumper beams. That's not bad as far as wrecks go. Fortunately, the radiator is further back in the FR-S compared to most cars and there aren't any oil coolers, intercoolers, or power steering lines up there to worry about.

eriktherod 06-28-2012 03:46 PM

I don't think there is any hood damage from the picture. The only part that looks questionable is the right (driver left) side corner but I think it's just the reflection and the bumper distortion. Looks pretty flush otherwise.

EDIT: Nevermind, I see the little crumple in the middle. I'd almost say that could be banged out? I'm not sure though.

Either that or the brake assist system kicked in. System detects a "panic stop" by a quick release of gas and increases master cylinder pressure. The car more or less forces it.

eriktherod 06-28-2012 03:56 PM

YES! I had a similar experience the other day. Was in stop-and-go traffic in rush hour doing the typical second gear roll. I had a good car length or so in front of me and the jackass on the right decides to dive in front of me because his lane isn't moving (mine isn't either!) and the person in front slammed on brakes, he does, I have to now and yeah.

I honestly though I tapped the guy that dove into my lane, the car just stopped too fast without any recoil or anything. I was thinking there was no way, I didn't hear a noise but it was just too sudden of a stop. I got out and looked, still had half a foot of distance, love them brakes!

just86 06-28-2012 06:52 PM

at first i thought, hahah another drifter wannabe

Good to hear you're safe! One can never be too careful at the lights.

chipz91 06-28-2012 08:11 PM

Bonburner 06-28-2012 08:20 PM

Gonna talk to the GM at the used toyota beaman lot where i got the car and just ask him about putting a five axis body kit on it since the bumper is definitely trash.

fistpoint 06-28-2012 11:37 PM

Pics of the other car...you know you took some, why wouldn't you? Good for insurance so they don't BS you later on. Anyway, pics of the other car please.
