Looks like Amuse gained about 30hp and dropped 50kg with all the mods they did. I wonder if they've been able to reprogram the ECU yet.

xwd 06-27-2012 05:06 PM

It looks like it's a full Ti exhaust, is that correct? I'm guessing it has to be given the prices I've found for it, which is $3500 or so from US vendors. And that's not including the catless downpipe, which is another $900, just for the downpipe...

FT-86GOD 06-27-2012 05:08 PM

Some pictures of there titanium extractors
For the 86/BRZ would be nice..

dabocx 06-27-2012 06:07 PM

Im more interested to see if they make aero parts. Their 370z stuff was amazing and just made the car look 100X better than stock.

Not wallet friendly but weight friendly yes..

Materials, good r&d coupled with excellent quality does yield a hefty price tag. Consumer value depends on your goals. I love Amuse, but its hard for me to justify the price for my usage....well for right now.

Do want!!

FT-86GOD 06-29-2012 06:01 AM

Atleast we have a bench mark price and hp figures to compare to other companies now...

How many differtent style systems do amuse usually do for each car make?

mike2100 06-29-2012 06:10 AM

19-24 hp from a catback? ehh

No idea, they have a list of all the exhaust they make on their site. Not sure if they will come out with another model.

Price aside, I do find it very impressive that you can gain 19HP just from this exhaust system itself without other mods. Along with weight savings and some minor mods, and a ECU flash, Toyobaru could easily hit 250HP without boost.

Pfffft, what's a 10% power increase... Meh.

10% from a catback is huge.

Yeah, but the sound coming from those pipes is exquisite! But then again each to their own I guess... ;p

Am I wrong for thinking a straight pipe design rather than the loop around aroud would be less restrictive, free more power, be cheaper to fabricate and weigh less?

dabocx 06-29-2012 03:20 PM

Dear god thats gorgeous but that price....

Didn't Nameless make 29hp with their downpipe/catback?

GuySmily 06-30-2012 02:10 AM

The "Step Up Tuning Test" board says:
Normal Attack
Step 1 = High Grip Tire _____ <-- can't read kanji
Step 2 = Suspension _____ <-- can't read kanji
Step 3 = Muffler and "shiito" _____ <-- can't read kanji. I think it's "seat", not "sheet"

I did a somewhat complete translation of the hot version video, might help: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...?t=6064&page=4

Header, overpipe, downpipe, midpipe, and axleback got them 29

With the Nameless equivalent to this Amuse setup they gained a handful of hp - it took replacing the rear OE cat with a high flow unit to get up around 12-13.
From the description of the Amuse exhaust it doesn't sound like they removed the cat. It just doesn't sound believable that Amuse made even 19hp without removing/replacing even one catalytic converter.

I agree with you. A Y type design should be a less restrictive and weigh less.

pdreams 06-30-2012 07:54 AM

There are actually 2 part numbers to the Amuse exhaust.

The second part is to delete the cat converter and I believe the results are with both parts.

:)

xwd 06-30-2012 09:19 AM

Yeah the results were likely with the new downpipe and keep in mind elsewhere in the world they like to quote results in flywheel HP, not whp... I think the plots they use in their video are from a dynapack showing flywheel hp. So if nameless saw a 12% gain in whp that would equate to like 24hp at the flywheel given a 200hp baseline.

lol, it appears you were the only guy who're on the same page. I couldn't have made it more clear by typing HP instead of WHP.

Sorry guys.
