Toyota f***** up my car

So i dropped my car off to the Toyota dealership by my work for the tail light warranty repair. A few hours later i got a phone call and the service adviser told me that they backed my frs into another Toyota. I am pretty pissed because it is unlikely they will be able to match the color with rest of the vehicle. Now i am pretty pissed :mad0260:

What color is your car?

Muaddib 05-29-2014 11:43 PM

White

Cringed while reading this. I would be so pissed if they did that to my car.

Whiteout is notoriously hard to match, so if they don't make it right, don't accept it until it's to your standards. Not your fault it was damaged.

Oh dear. Of all the colors they could back into something. The white on this car is a real pain to match. I hope they can get it real close for you. This is why i hate dealerships and would much rather have performance shops that are run and staffed by "car guys" do anything that I can't do myself. Much rather have guys who take pride in cars than dealership staff.

I concur. Hopefully damage was minimal and they do body work in-house. My car is the same color so I feel your pain. Shiz happens so try to take it in stride. No sense stressing.

Damn :( I'm having the same issue right now. Had a lady hit my car and they've painted th bumper twice now. I think I'm taking it back in tomorrow for a third try. Going to have them blend the bumper with the quarter panel. I'm a little nervous, but it simply doesn't match.

Holy smokes, that sucks to hear. When they call and say that you're car is done with repairs, look at the car from all angles and if the paint doesn't flow/match, don't accept it.

IMO don't let them do the repair work!

Get a quote from the nicest body shop in town. Then get toyota to write you a check!

Ask for compensation for depreciated value.

First world problems.

Been there, it sucks and I hate dealerships but still.. You drank purified water, didn't have to hunt your own food out of necessity and nobody shot at you today so all in all... not the worst day in the world.

Just posted these pics on the WRB thread. Here is my "problem" Not a huge deal, but it is literally driving me nuts. Body shop has been AMAZING (as I have already said)

And blend in the sun….looks dead on until you walk to the side of the car on the seam, then it shows quite a bit.

I might be crazy, but I'm nearly positive the color has darkened since it was first painted (drying? paint smell is now gone from the garage). Not a lot, but it has.

Damn, one more reason to not go to the dealer...

Keep us updated on the outcome though

Target70 05-30-2014 03:08 AM

that really sucks. you can't trust them at all.
When I took mine up there I tried to get them to give me new tail light seals and told them I would do it myself, they said they would have to charge me if they gave me the seals, but warranty would cover it if they did the work, might have been worth it except they order the whole light assembly. I ended up walking around the building till I found a back way into the garage, where I sat at the door out of the way and watched them work. They eventually tried to kick me out but left me alone after I told I would not let my car out of my line of sight. Even then they put the trunk panel back on without snapping the wiring harness back in place, and slamming my trunk multiple times like it was a bent door on a 79 Buick.

Turbo95eg6 05-30-2014 03:11 AM

What kind of idiots work there? Don't feel too bad OP, the white doesn't even come properly matched from the factory... With luck you might have a better match once repaired, at least you have the option of having them retry it until your satisfied. Tell them you don't want to blend.
