Why not simply disconnect the drl?

does anyone have the pictures to show the location of the DRL resistor? I think the pictures were removed from the first post.

IMO this is the best way to do this. It costs about 25 bucks, but there is no modding, taping, or whatever. Just go into the fuse box, pop the current one out and put this on in there. Everything still works 100% but the DRLs never turn on. Easier to reverse too.

25 bucks here and there can add up.

finally found it in fsm. For those who want to do this, the DRL resistor is located behind the bumper cover on the passanger side, just underneath the horn. big heatsink block according to the picture in the FSM, instructions are to remove bumper cover to access the resistor.

I unplugged my resistor about 6 months ago and am so glad I did.

Its super easy. I did not even need to jack the car up or undo any clips/bolts like the original instructions said.

Just slide under front bumper, find little rectangle access panel and remove it, reach in and unplug resistor, tape and zip tie up, put access panel back on. DONE!!!

Anybody willing to post up pictures to match the guide? For some reason I'm not seeing them anymore.

after I got my car off the ground I saw what tennisfreak was talking about in the post above yours. There is a small rectangular panel about 3 inch X 4 inch, that you can pop out with a flat head screwdriver. Inside you can easily grab the connector to the resistor (black heat-sink). Put tape over the connectors, and zip tie them up to the harness and you are done. Hope that helps.

So all i have to do is remove the fuse (yellow circle) and then tape off that area???

also, as other people have mentioned, are there anymore pictures to confirm this?

Anyone with a BRZ actually remove the DRLs? Truth be told I never really looked at the fog light bezels that closely... my car is too far to check. hah

I did the resistor as well and it the way to go, less than 5 minutes and no adverse side effects.

When I did mine I wrapped the ends in electrical tape just in case water splashed up under there.
