I feel you. A working condition Cayman S for $35K and a 3.8 for another $30K ain't exactly chump change. Honestly doing it in a Boxster would be a good ~$20K cheaper simply due to how cheap one can find 986 S models.

Agh I had a typo...I said a Boxster is $35K. I meant Cayman. You can get a 986 Boxster S for $15K, knocking $20K off the swap price - that was my point...since the engine costs as much as a used Cayman. :bonk:
