How much weight would a turbo kit add? I want a turbo and 400 horsepower, and the car has to weigh 2200lbs and only cost $13000 or I'm going to buy a Genesis coupe instead.

:respekt:

So in conclusion, expensive Volks and BBS doesn't really matter....

As long as the wheel size is matched the the right tire, for the right suspension setup.

Bah, I've run Rotas for years on track and street and have never had so much as a bent wheel, let alone a crack or a broken wheel. That's not to say it can't happen, but I've seen broken Volks, Desmonds, SSRs, etc too so the fact that it has happened doesn't mean the entire companies offerings are going to break.

ROTA's may not be the lightest rim out there and they may not be as desirable as the original option, but they're cheap to replace if you curb one and not as unreliable as this picture makes out. You have to question exactly what has happened here, did they hit the curb sideways? or was the tyre too stretched/overinflated?

Quoted weight is 2610 lbs . . . youre right, it didnt come under 2600 lbs LOL

chulooz 11-27-2011 10:42 AM

So after you toss out the spare and jack its sub-2600lbs. Sounds like a winner to me.

I wonder if these new weights are dry... that would explain the difference.

LOL!

But honestly, until we see the final U.S. numbers, its still up in the air. Each country measures curb weights differently.

The safety equipment is different in the US the the world spec car, so depending on what Toyota will install, it will probably be heavier but that's just my guess.

Curb Weight should be the weight of the car with fluids and 90% full tank. If Curb Weight is given at 1180 kg for the base version, without A/C (which is the heaviest comfort feature) Dry Weight would be about 1100 kg. Tank is 50, oil is 5l.

Pretty sure that it doesn't come with a spare.
