You have to take off all top bumper bolts and poppers, then there is two bolts underneath the top of the bumper, just pull it back a little you wont hurt anything. Undo the two snorkel bolts. Pull snorkel out by pullin the top bumper up, again you won't hurt anything, and just work the snorkel out

I have lots of projects in the works. However, regarding intake, it can sway either way. Mine as you know it, Mine slightly modified, or stick with Airaid once I receive it. For the amount of effort I'm putting into Mine slightly modified, the price point equals that of the Airaid GB and I'm leaning just to go with that. At a certain point, there is not a lot of variation on design and principle. And I feel I am at that point. I really want to move off the intake project and onto other stuff.

Parts cost alone on this system is $200.00 (not including my labor for pipe R&D or installation).

Looking for that lucky person who might want to take this off of my hands.

Great News!

Finally got the gear in to log all aspects of the OBDII system including AFR.

Did some AFR testing in realtime today and the numbers that I'm reading are similar to that of what was posted by manufacturers. In otherwords, my claim that if this intake system system would throw the AFR off, a CEL would be produced is right. It doesn't and is well managed.

For those interested, a quick way to watch diagnostics is with an ELM327 OBDII BT adapter and Android/Torque app.

Quite powerful as well as useful and inexpensive to check on mods.

so did you end up going with the airraid intake then? performs better than your custom set up?

TBBandit 08-25-2012 04:22 AM

Dang I'm kind of sad to see yours go..I still really like the set up

I have the Airaid and as of now, I do not think it performs better than my CAI V2. It definitely does not sound as mean as what I have. It sounds a little bit like a Kazoo with lower tones, but not deep tones like my design. However, I have not extensively driven on it yet to really tell. However, the Airaid was surprisingly overengineered IMO but does 'make sense' in what they were trying to accomplish.
