If I were in your shoes, I would stick with EcuTek at this point and then call Dynosty over in Louisville.

You're about an hour away from one of the closest master tuners in the area. And they have a Dyno there. Talk to Hal, he'll get you straightened up.

Oh, and if those are your ACTUAL dongle ID numbers and registration code, you should delete them from your post above.

LOL.....No they're not. I just used some random numbers to make an example. I guess I'll wait to see what the Skunk2 people tell me. I was originally going to use Counterspace Garage and have been talking with Zach, but I'll also talked to Dynosty before, too. When I spoke to them last, they had like a 2-3 month wait time and I'm trying to get this thing installed ASAP. I'll call again and see what's up with them.

Thank you so much.

Thank you for the info!
I have a couple questions and I am relatively new to the tuning world. I bought a 2016 supercharged FR-S and I know it has had a tune on it before. I have 3 map settings currently, but have no way to check what they are or modify them since I am not in ownership of the original cables and Ecutek used on the car. If I wanted to retune the car and/or see what tune(s) are on it currently, would a new Ecutek system (cable?) work or do I need the original? Or could I take it to a tuner to have it tuned? I have a couple friends with 86s who could probably help, but I want to do as much as I can on my own first. Any information would be great and like I said, I am pretty new to this so please be nice! ^.^

only way is to contact previous owner and ask him if he has the .bin
otherwise you won't recover it

You can only buy a new kit and tune from scatch and lose that current tune forever though

For about a hundred bucks, you can get a replacement ECU and swap it out, that way you'll still have the original tune intact on the old ECU. It's an alternative to writing over and losing the current tune.

unless is pure gold for him, he would just do the car a favour if he picks up a recent tune from a well reviewed and known tuner and forget about the locked current one

I think this should be put in the first post...
Ecutek let's you edit your own custom tune, but there's a step to flash it.
Ecutek doesn't let you flash custom edited tunes, you have to apply RomPatch to it (no need for RaceRom license).
This will replace the Engine Load Limiters A and B with RaceRom Engine Load Limit.
This is an important parameter, but you can't edit it unless you buy RaceRom license.
So, if you want to edit your own tunes, you need the license.
This is why I hate Ecutek.

Yeah i probably have not noticed that as i dont have a base ecutek kit.

They used to give you access to some basic racerom parameters with base kit like launch ffs auto blip but only on map 1 . just make sure you dont have load limit table in there.

But yes ecutek want to charge for everything. The new phone flash is very expensive rearly knly for high volume tuners $4000 AUD a year to access and aprox $100 AUD per tune to use phone flash as well as normal licience\flash points
