i guess i possibly belong in the potential buyers group, so should i go down to see Frank @ PHS and leave a deposit, since its refundable?

i just dont want to end up purchasing it for more than i should and $300 over invoice sounds good...

please advise, thanks !

I would say just hold on until July/august until you're 100% sure, but if you do end up becoming financially secure by July/August it would work out for you.

So my advice would be to go and see Frank about your situation or give him a call to see what will happen. I would also double check with him if you have any other odd situations you need answered too, but before you do go down to him send me a PM and I'll give you the savings code just in case you do end up putting a deposit down.

That's what he told me too. 10-15 deposits already. Hope they have enough room on their lot lol

I need to get on this list asap. :/

:sigh:

I want to put myself on the list - just not 100% sure I want to get the BRZ cause of pricing! :brokenheart:

I just received an e-mail from Frank about a code. Apparently people have heard about this deal and have mentioned it to other sales people in the sales department at PHS.

So from now on (starting today) you'll have to send me a PM and get a 'savings code' so Frank knows its people from my group.

Those who have already put their deposit on the BRZ are OK! However, those who have yet to do it need to send me a PM.

AND.

Anyone else who is NOT on my list will pay FULL PRICE.

Just messaged you :)

The deposit is 100% refundable at any time, so you can get on the list now and be happy you did if you decide you want it after pricing comes out, or if pricing sucks, you can get the deposit back. Win-win? :D

rosuhere 02-06-2012 03:31 PM

i will be leaving my deposit at the end of the month... it's 100% refundable, so nothing to lose...

yea, the only thing still up for verdict is the price factor, and of course, that's a big one, haha...

my guess is still $25k[P]/27k[L] and $24k for the fr-s...

i'm in the south bay area...

Giccin 02-06-2012 07:57 PM

I really don't think the price of the BRZ is 25k for premium.... 23-24k is what I see.

i hope you're right... so where does that put the fr-s, $21,995?

21-22k. With addons and all that junk probably just as much as the BRZ premium.

If the BRZ's pricing gets too high it'll conflict with the WRX.

If the FRS is too high it gets out of the "affordability" range of Scion's "inexpensive" range. Lol
Too low and it will hurt the tC.

Only difference I see between the two brands is haggling vs no-haggling.

you're right, the tc is priced @ $19,305, so the fr-s @ ~$22k sounds about right... and the brz coming in @ ~$24k...

they need to announce the pricing already, these pointless speculations are getting old -__-;

Does it make a difference which model I buy to join the group buy? I want the cheapest version of 86, and our group of interest is considering buying 10 of them for the drift club.:slap:

It makes no difference on which model you buy.

But... if you have any other questions... take a look at my wall of organized text in my first post of this thread. ;p

Edit: Anyone and everyone who is new and wants to get in on this deal. I'll need you to post a post in this thread. And send me a PM with your full first name and last initial. Then ask for the Savings code.

Oh... I also feel really sketchy about giving people who have 0-3 posts the savings code.

Oh jeez. I've been soo off-track with everything. Lol

You should be ok since you already posted a deposit. If anything give Frank a call again and ask if you need to give him the Savings Code even though you've already put down a deposit.

:slap: Moment.

Edit: Sorry Gaia!

86design 02-07-2012 02:44 AM

I'm feeling the love gaiakai lol :)

jai 02-07-2012 03:06 AM

Hello,
Just posting to say that I'm interested in this as well.

Looking at the list, is it safe to assume that it'll probably be at least 4-5 (maybe even 8+?) months after release if we're just getting in now?

I can drive up this weekend or next to put in the deposit, but was just curious.

86design 02-07-2012 03:10 AM

^^ welcome and yeah you want to talk to Giccin about the add on list...... but if your planning on getting the car in 8 months you really don't need to leave a deposit..

All good, I don't think anyone expects you to have the whole list memorized anywho lol

I'll give him a call sometime this week anyway to ask. Having a secret code is awesome.

Whut. I just went into the thread and copied the link without checking if you've seen/posted in it already lol

:slap: moment for me too I guess.

Is anyone in the group from San Diego? Seems very OC/LA centered. Is there already a San Diego buying group?

There are some people in the Carlsbad area coming up here for the deal.

Like my first post says--its avaliable to everyone. Even to those out of state.

If you can't dedicate a 1hrish no-traffic drive to Puente Hills... then I really don't know what to say other than to question your commitment or determination for this deal.

It wasn't the easiest thing to do since I had to talk to multiple dealers and drive everywhere to see them in person. So if you want to get on this deal knowing that you don't have to do any leg-work other than to drive and make a few calls this deal will work out best for you.

However, if you feel that it is too long of a drive then I wish you the best of luck in your area.

Ah, I was assuming that the 16 other names on the "right-off-the-bat" list had already put in their deposit. That BRZ preorder thread mentioned that a single dealership may only get 1-2 BRZ's per month.
If I can get one at release, I'd be okay with that :) (assuming pricing is good and test drive goes well, obviously).

However, this dealership is a lot bigger than your typical Subaru dealership. I recall doing an google maps satellite view and it pretty much dwarfs the ones that are around me

i agree, i drive from LA to SD everyday for work, over 100 miles one way.

all you have to do is to drive up twice to get your car, if thats too much, then there is nothing else more the forum can do here.

burt 02-08-2012 05:16 PM

Giccin,

Please add me to the potential buyers list. Thanks!

Giccin 02-08-2012 05:17 PM

This Friday (2/10/12) I'm going to give Frank a call and have him give me a list of names and compare it to my list I have on this forum.

I MAY need to have everyone who is on the lists for either the Right-off-the-bat or Potential buyers list to give me their full names. This applies to only those who have put down a deposit. I'll double check to make sure that if you had put down your deposit and wasn't required to give them a savings code at the time that you are in fact on my list. I may contact you AGAIN to make sure you call Frank just to make everything clear.

Also... those of you who are interested and are brand new to this forum. I HIGHLY SUGGEST you post in this thread on which list you want to be on BEFORE you PM me asking for the Savings code. That 1-3 post count you have will tell me you're not a spammer trying to get the savings codes.

AND I want you to read the first post. Its long but I want you to read it to make sure you know what you're getting in too.

vaporiz 02-09-2012 03:12 AM

Sorry if I'm asking a dumb question, but can I put down a deposit without driving all the way from Norcal to Socal. If so, how?

This is my first car purchase /pre-order so I don't know anything T.T

You could give Frank and ask how you would do it.

Only way I could think of is to send him a Check with the words VOID written on it, but you should probably give Frank a heads up and see how he'd like you to send it.

And its not a dumb question. :) I'll answer any question to the best of my ability. <:

rosuhere 02-09-2012 03:17 AM

hey, i might send in my check since it's about an hour drive for me and i really don't feel like going all the way down there just to leave the deposit...

i'll give Frank a call at the end of the month to see how i can go about it...

vaporiz 02-09-2012 03:20 AM

o_o such quick response, thank you. I'll give him a call.
