This cop is a douche bag!

I live in the area, and travel through that tunnel weekly. Although I don't drive my BRZ through there too often, I may have to start just so I can get pulled over and make this guy look like a moron on video as he searches my car for for violations he wont find as it looks like racecar, but is in compliance with "The Republic of California's" BoxerStein bullshit law's. And no BoxerStein is not a Japanese beer mug.

@ApolloSki, did your ticket have a sticker on the back? if it doesn't, you won't need to go to the ref.

if it does, they will definitely check the ECU.

Yea it did. I doubt they can tell whether or not I have the Carb ecutek tune for my supercharger or my custom tune. Im not too worried about the ecu check if thats what you were talking about.

I think I may have seen you today, if you were driving through the LAX tunnel headed south around 4 o'clock this afternoon. I read your post last night, and caught a car that looked just like yours as I left the airport. Looks nice going down the road! Definitely a racer, though. ;)

Could have been me! Meh, I just thought cops had better things to do than mess with vehicle inspections on random cars.

Yeah, I don't have too much done to the engine yet, but I roll my tinted windows down whenever I catch a cop around. I haven't had any trouble, but a friend has been pulled over 3 times just for his dark tint! There's clearly better things to be doing.

Awww it such a nice tunnel.

I'm not saying he's not a jerk for getting you for all those things, but it is a legal stop, he is doing his job, and end of the day when you put all these parts on in california you know going into it its illegal! so you can't be mad when you get a ticket for it. i have all of my windows tinted as well so if i get a ticket, i will gladly take it, have it removed, get it signed off, and then get it put back on (buy the lifetime warranty and if the shop offers free replacement for fix it tickets, GET IT)

it amazes me, people these days cry about why they are getting hassled by the cops when they are breaking the law. its not like he put the tint on your car, you did it so just accept responsibility for it and move on!

So high and mighty...first off sure its breaking the law...in THIS state. Not to mention ass holes that can drive their Harleys up and down neighborhoods.
I'd bet money a lawyer could get him out of the ticket if he was recorded saying that.
Some people are military who bring their cars here. They may not know how lame this state is UNTIL they get pulled over.
California just sucks if you like cars whether it was "illegal" or not.
