I just stumbled upon this thread! I've been working and living in Jeddah for past 3 yrs. I've seen a couple of 86s driving around together on Corniche Rd. a few times and maybe it could have been one of you. :)

I plan to pick up a manual 86 or BRZ within this year. Yet to visit the dealerships so I wanted to ask if manual transmission 86 and/or BRZ is readily available here in the Kingdom?

I think you can find a 2015 easily at the dealer

I hope so because I read about some having trouble finding new MT models at the dealerships. :)

I'm also debating whether I should hold out for 2016 model because I hear rumors of small facelift and updates. Not much, but since it'll arrive only a few months from now, I might as well wait.

I think that there will be no face lift in 2016.
I dont recommend that you wait unless you are also consedring the FT-1

I see. FT-1 is still at least 2~3 yrs away, I believe. I have no intention to wait that long. :)

BTW, I see you are from Jeddah. Where did you buy and install all of your modifications? I'm wondering how SC'd twins drive... Wanna give me a ride sometime? :D
