We have 4 cars at the shop that run Tomei Exhaust systems, and this stuff is nothing short of AMAZING!
I have a equivalent of the 80mm Race system on my WRX street car, and after 2 years I still love it and its holding up very well.

Best part about Ti systems is they will change sound/note as the system gets hot. Also over time the mid-pipe will start to dis-color to the blue/purple color.
This is what the test pipe on our shop EVO X looks like after a few thousand miles

Does anyone know where I could find a sound clip of the 80mm?

As these systems are not yet in production there is no sound clips for the BRZ/FRS specific units.
However we did make videos of the 80mm systems for some of our shop cars

Sweet! I'm looking forward to some comparisons between the 3.

Do they plan on making any type of "diffuser"? The HP and weight reduction sound great for the money, but I wish there was a solution to the added drag.

The catback is 80mm but theres no other pipes of that size of the market to match it up to. Biggest front/mid/over pipe is 3"

The 80mm pipe is for forced induction applications, so if someone is running a turbo kit for instance they will already have most of the piping up to the catback addressed.

At this current time TOMEI has not released anything about doing a diffuser

I understand this. What im saying is the biggest pipes out there are all 3" in diameter for forced induction cars. Why would tomei make this exhaust another .15" bigger and not have it flow smoothly with the other exhaust parts out there?

Reason is that these units are made in Japan, where everything is in the metric system. So to make a 3" pipe, it would be an odd ball size of metric piping of 76.2mm. You will notice that systems around the world that are made outside of US are in 60,70,80,100mm and are not measured in inches.

Sorry, but that's bs. I've lived in Australia, New Zealand, and Japan all my life. All three countries fully metric. And piping is still imperial in the most part, certainly for automotive applications. Yes you can buy metric sizing, but its less common/more expensive, and certainly not the norm.

Tomei would have chosen that sizing because of their r&d, not their desire to use metric sizing.

Maybe wait till tomei release their front pipes and over pipes??

Not trying to start a war or argument, but presenting it as it is and how I have been explained to by many manufactures and how I have ordered materials for personal projects :)
As for the comment "but its less common/more expensive", I think titanium piping will qualify for "less common/more expensive" area of purchasing materials for manufacturing;)

Companies such as Greddy, Apexi, Blitz, Powerhouse Amuse, ect, ALL produce piping in metric sizes of standard intervals.

Apologies, probably coming off more abrasive than I intended.

Ditto not wanting to argue about it, as I'm only going off what I have seen and experienced. However you do raise a good point re:titanium. My comments are more related to mild steel and stainless. I don't have enough experience in titanium to comment; perhaps Ti is more common in metric sizing.
