Man, does this get old.

Yep.

People will listen to whatever they’re spoon fed by others that already align with their preformed biases while simultaneously dismissing anything anybody else with an opposing view says because they’re clearly biased and only listening to biased sources.

The shit goes round and round.

This means no fear, cavalier renegade and steering clear
A tournament, a tournament, a tournament of lies
Offer me solutions, offer me alternatives, and I decline

Both sides do it. Get over it.

Money is made when paranoia is promoted. Try buying bottled water in Florida before a hurricane. One beautiful sight imo is the boxes of masks being sold at a discount in Walgreens. Fuck those things lol. On a side note, I kinda like the cleaning after oneself and handwashing at the gym. I usually get some kind of bug once a year at the gym. Not so in the past year though. Many of us have had a year or so of our lives altered by restriction. Time to get out and get moving

What I have difficulty "getting over" is that certain political statements are accepted and/or ignored by mods despite the "no politics" policy, while differing and at LEAST equally valid statements and viewpoints are not. Impureclient wasn't one to put forth his viewpoints tactfully, kindly, or gently, but I do empathize with the way he felt. As a conservative and one who is more than interested in scientific data and research, I bear no one malice or hatred for their differing viewpoints. I sure wish those on the other side of the aisle would extend the same acceptance and kindness to me.

It's a bit like the "cancel culture" whining that has become so pervasive. The ones that whine the loudest about it are (some of) its most frequent practitioners.

We can discuss policy without politics. Right now those who realize their fears may have been unfounded are butthurt and those who were a little more rational are gloating . Give it time. Memories fade

Unfounded? Which fears are you taking about? Fear of the vaccine? You surely can't be suggesting that fears off the virus where/are unfounded. I don't think you will have much luck selling that to the family and friends of the 600,000 Americans who have died - so far.

I have no fear of the vaccine and I have no fear of covid. I have more fear of those who locked themselves in the house and wore fish tanks over their heads. They were duped.

weederr33 06-05-2021 05:58 PM

What are we talking about? Who was duped about what? And whose fears came true? Who are the rational ones and why/how are they gloating?

Capt Spaulding 06-05-2021 06:07 PM

Good luck getting a straight answer to any of those. :D

I don't know anyone who wore a fish tank. Must be a Florida thing ;)
