Yep, they were good wheels. The one on the upper left got a bit of curb rash, but it wasn't my fault - it happened when I was backing up - :(

At least they were an improvement over the OEM wheels you replaced...

Such a waste. There's plenty of tread left.

Just came back from my first long trip with my 86. Got the car 5 months ago, and pretty much just commute with some back roads fun, but nothing more than couple hundreds kms at the time.

The trip was more than 2200 kms, in five days, from Montreal to Gaspésie and back. It's 1/3 highway, 1/3 seashore roads and 1/3 montains twisties. I was with my wife and we didn't know what to expect from the car for a trip that long.

It was AMAZING!! I mean, the destination and the scenery helped quite a lot, but that car is so versatile. It does so many things better than expected, like climbing hills, overtaking slower traffic and surprising good fuel economy. And it does it in a complete package for pure driving enjoyment.

All the things I was concern about (harsh ride, space, noise and more) are not issues for DD, but a 26 hours trip is something else. Well they were no concern at all. Plenty of space for our stuff. The noise could have been a problem in different conditions (winter time or heavy rain), but for us it was either loud music or windows down pretty much all the time.

My main concern was the consequence of the stiff suspension and TRD springs resulting in a disconfort over time. But I realized that these seats are not only great for lateral support, they are also VERY confortable. We got no back pain, no need for getting out for a stretch or adding support.

Overall, a very nice trip and new things about this car that still amazes me. I feel very lucky to be able to drive a car so pure and inspiring in a world going mosltly in the opposite direction.

Can't wait for the next trip in a couple months...Florida here we come.
