Absolutely. Had my FRS over 3.5 years at this point. Its a great little car.
Only issue I've had was a broken window seal from too many frozen windows trying to open when opening the door (freezing rain sucks), but I got that replaced under warranty. Also, a garage and a winter beater helps. Interior has held up pretty well for me. Paint gets scratched pretty easily. As for differences, back in '13 the two cars had slightly different suspension setups, but I think they changed the 86/FRS to be closer to the BRZ at some point. Cant really talk to any of the updated interiors. Hope that helps. |
I would've kept my g35 coupe instead. Better yet ditch the g35 and kept the s2k. Wasnt expecting to get married and gas prices to drop lol

In regards to the door deals couldn't you spray some kind of rubber seal lubricant with PTFE? |

Though, if you are suggesting that to help me out, I went the 'getting a garage and winter beater' route. |

Zero issues with both. |
Can't see myself not owning one of the twins after 3 years of having one

No as I already have it.

No from me. I do enjoy my brz , but with my 2 mile commute it just doesn't have the power to have light to light fun. It's a great car at autocrosses but I mainly co-drive a 2015 evo or a 2016 gtr and they are straight out more fun. It's a great chassis if you want a new car , but I can't imagine buying a new one for the same price i can have a 700whp c5 z06 for.

Yes 100% in love with my FRS. It's more of a special bond than any other car.

I love my car but if I had to sell it, would I buy another one? No I probably wouldn't. That said, I'm not looking to sell my car either.
|
I'm not sure I would buy mine again.
If it was my first car, it'd be great. But I've had other cars that were better in different ways. No car is perfect and every car is a compromise of some kind. I'm just not sure I'm okay with the compromises this car makes. So why did I buy it to begin with? I think because I romped the hell out of it on the test drive and that's where this car shines. It wasn't until I was commuting in it for a week or so that I thought, "Heeeeyy..." Also, I've had a lot of small, niggling little issues with mine. They kind of seem to be working themselves out as the car gets older, but first impressions are important and unfortunately my car and I had a bad run of it there for a while right off the bat. |
