I have always thought the IS-F engine is one good looking engine. This whole project seems like the fevered dream of a madman, but damn the final result would be fun!

THANKS ICHI!!!
I was wondering what had happened with the Orido 86.... Been so long since ive come across any new info..... A breath of fresh air seeing this today........ Well apart from the crash!!! Any info on amount of damage? Those 2 guys were very lucky IMO..... Also what track is that? Ebisu? I love when they get air sideways through the turn tandem.. Daigo Saito's finest moment.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NFPgG45lEDE&feature=related |

Those 2 camera men were really lucky. As for the damage, it wasn't as bad as vid looks (so he blogged). Just rear quarter/bumper area damage. Was able to drive and compete. He took 8th place on Round 5 D1GP. As for a track, it's Ebisu. The most crash happening track :) Here's a vid of Orido practicing at the same track few weeks before the event [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHWANQCx2HQ"]2012 MAX★ORIDO D1GP V86GT3 TEST in EBISU - YouTube[/ame] |
practice makes perfect lol...

@ichitaka05 hahahaha u just beat me lol...... U would have thought the crash would have shook him up a bit nearly hitting the camera dude... The Is-F engine sounds so much different now? Its an animal.....

Tough stuff....

It's very cool but it's not a modded 86 anymore, IMHO when you change engines and strip down to body and rebuild, the car loses so much of it's original character that you might of well have taken a fiber cast and popped that on a go-kart..

Its still a GT86... Our GT86/FRS/BRZ....... :w00t: |
Yeah I suppose from that point of view... however if I removed your brain and your heart your legs and put someone else's brain and heart and legs on your torso... would that still be you (and would I be REALLY REALLY famous!)
I have moved over from the BMW modding scene and although there are loads of insane Swedish and Icelandic E30 drag cars with funny car engines .. these aren't real bimmers any more.. I recon once a car loses its personality and it's road manners, it's no longer the car that appealed so much.. it's actually just a body replica on a race car.. but that's only my opinion :) I prefer to mod to enhance and improve on the original... for me the trick is to have the mods almost invisible to the untrained eye... until the right foot goes down or the volume goes up!! |

Drift King's AE86 don't have original engine. Along w suspension, trans & so many parts... Hell, some of the parts aren't even Toyota brands, but ppl say DK's AE86 get idolized as real true AE86. About brain & heart example isn't a great example. Let's face it, even someone swap their brain & heart, ppl can't tell the difference & shouldn't. Right now there's heart transplant surgery. Are those ppl that had organ transplant isn't real or "true" ppl? Now, that to me is a bit of over-reacting. Chief engineer of this wonderful car stated "Please mod this car into your taste. Maybe just a simple sticker to full track ready ver, so it's one of the kind 86." & I think Orido is doing just that. |
