I'm rocking this one for a while to. Plan on hooking up a wideband ASAP to see how close it is to where it should be. I may or may not change paths down the road but for right not the butt dyno feels more power. I smell slight burning smell but from past experience it is the(excess) oils burning off the cone and tube. The is a very different sound coming from the engine and I removed the sound tube and plugged it with a thick bolt in the fire wall. I am happy till there are intakes out that arent 400$ for the same things plus a box

does the pipe step up to a larger size from the throttle body? or is the inlet of the throttle body the same size as the inlet pipe (3")?

With this higher flowing than stock intake you can tell by the sound, from 6-7200rpm, that this car wants an exhaust to get rid of all the extra air. So looks like I will be getting a header back exhaust a lot sooner than planned :-)

Oh and why take off the smaller piece of the stock box? I would think that helps guide the air more and more evenly. Is there a reason you took off the entire box?

Can you guys show that the above intakes dont significantly alter the air fuel ratios? Also, a lot of the pics look like the intakes are able to pull a lot of hot air from the engine bay. The filters that are fully shielded will probably end up being restrictive due to the closeness of the filter to its housing. Cold air, to me, means at least as cold as stock. This is no bueno.

My original thought was the same. I modified it as the heat shield perfectly fit the stock CAI top and bottom and noticed increased air flow. We capped the heat shield as well.
