LOL a major shipload of BRZs must have just been offloaded. Got another call today this time from someone at Autowest Subaru in Roseville, CA. The guy said they have 3, yes 3 WRB BRZs, 1 6MT and 2 6AT. Forgot to ask him if they are Premiums or Limiteds. Anyways he said they are being PDI'd and are not spoken for as of earlier today. However, they are asking $3K markup. Well I guess that's a little better than the $5K markup they told me when I originally called them a few weeks ago. :bellyroll:

Well the guy said they are willing to take offers but not MSRP. I told him I had an order for below MSRP and the guy went off on a "cautionary" tale about how other dealerships might promise me a deal but then renege on it and try to gouge me. Thanks buddy, good looking out. :bs:
Anyways if anyone is in that area you can at least visit and check out WRB in person, and maybe talk your way into a test drive, seeing as they have so many on the lot. ;)

just a heads-up, dublin toyota loads on upgrades to make a higher MSRP sale. they give you an option of forced upgrades for you to pick, but will not sell you the car unless you make some sort of upgrade that drives the MSRP higher.

Buggy51 07-30-2012 10:10 AM

Saw a SWP BRZ being available at Elk Grove Subaru as well as the silver BRZ

Silverpike 07-30-2012 07:09 PM

If anyone here has pre-ordered an WRB Limited (either 6-speed or AT) and doesn't want to keep the pre-order, please send me PM.

I got a call from a salesman on saturday that they got one in but when i was there friday to ask service to quickly look at my car and see why the engine is making noise like it was 20yrs old. I was told by a fat service manager "sorry all service techs are busy" but they were all standing around the parts department. First impression.. wont take my car there for service if thats how they work with customers. I dont think it would have taken anyone 10mins to just check it out..

that's unfortunate, you're right first impressions make a huge difference and can make or break a service relationship. for what it's worth my wife and I have been taking our tC and MR2 to Dublin for regular oilchanges for a few years and generally been happy with them. They give you a very thorough inspection report after every service, even a basic oil change. Good way to see what mechanical issues may be coming and let you plan ahead (i.e. tire tread low, P/S fluid dirty, CV boot starting to crack). Have not bought a car through them though.

raventare 08-05-2012 05:49 PM

I may have a BRZ for sale at the end of the month but it already has "parts" on it so there would be an extra cost...Pearl White Premium manual with a CF driveshaft and a set of Volk TE37's.
(17 X 7.5 +48 in white also) PM me if you are interested...no charge for the license which I won't give up, LTE BRZ

GuySmily 08-06-2012 04:43 PM

So who bought the WRB limited BRZ from Maita Subaru? I was going to go check out the limited interior (still have never seen one, only premium/FRS) and the lady said it was gone within an hour.

mkiisupra 08-07-2012 10:28 PM

Spoke with sales at Modesto Toyota/Scion this morning. Two coming in this week, one Whiteout, AT, spoken for, and an Asphalt MT, seems available. Want to poke head in with helmet to see if me fits. No stealership markup, I asked expressly that, and they said they don't do that.

Fingers crossed on the Hot Lava MT somewhere...

Sat in the Asphalt one (pre-PDI) today to verify headroom, trunk, etc... Looks great! It was pretty much next to get washed, so I couldn't get a real good look at the lines.

I asked about taking possession of a car before PDI and weather the current car could be taken for a test ride. Those questions seemed to throw them for a loop, but I 'esplained myself and they thought that may be okay.

I will check it out once its prepped to see how many scratches ended up in the dark finish. Hopefully get to take a spin.

I was able to check out 2 BRZ (1 premium auto GBS, 1 limited 6MT Silver) at Putnam Subaru in Burlingame. Very nice, i'd take the silver one in a heartbeat if i was financially able.

Across the street I saw a red FRS at Putnam Scion/Toyota.

PMok 08-13-2012 01:56 PM

were there markups or forced addons on these cars you saw? otherwise I would imagine they would have been snapped up quickly...

GOMEZ 08-13-2012 02:36 PM

The Silver BRZ had the diffuser, but i think that was it. I don't recall any options for the GBS.

e-mail 1:
My name is Jason Bean, I'm an Internet Manager here at Putnam Subaru in Burlingame. I've received your inquiry on a New 2013 Subaru BRZ and I'd be happy to help you. It is still here at the moment. We have two. I believe these are the only two currently available in Northern California. We are adjusting the price to reflect current market value just like all other dealers. Extremely limited supply and very high demand. The two that we've had prior both sold very fast for well over MSRP. If you're interested in purchasing one of these vehicles I'd be happy to go over the details and schedule an appointment with you to come in and take a look. Please feel free to send me an email or give me a call if you have or need any other information regarding this purchase. I look forward to hearing from you. I appreciate the opportunity to earn your business. Thanks in advance.

e-mail 2:
Hi there, to be honest, I don't want to give you sticker shock. The dealer asking price including the market adjustment is WELL over that.
You have one on order though, that's great. You're one of the lucky ones that got to place an order. Enjoy the vehicle when it arrives.

:sigh: Yup, sounds like markup way over MSRP. I said I'd be willing to pay 1K over MSRP just to get the car a couple of weeks early and apparently that isn't close to what they are looking for.

The Modesto Toyota/Scion Interweb Manager said no markups, just MSRP. "We don't do that here, but we have heard others do."

Went to dublin toyota yesterday just too see if they had any to look at/ sit in.

I figured theyd have a mark up there, but didnt expect them to say $3000 mark up. Ridiculous.

If your in the market for a FR-S keep looking around, i know there are dealers that sell them at msrp.

Don't give in, pay MSRP or less!

Ms. FR-S 08-13-2012 10:17 PM

Argento AT available at Hanford Toyota/Scion at MSRP, if anyone's interested. Just bought my Asphalt 6MT there, it was a great experience.

86BRZ 08-13-2012 11:20 PM

I will not pay over MSRP. Getting it $x over to enjoy it "y" weeks sooner can be equal to $z per week, or even $?? per day...or $?? per mile. Not to mention this is a car, the moment it drive off the dealer's lot is an immediate depreciation. Immediate loss even more $ if pay the dealer mark up.

Idiot Circus Boy 08-14-2012 10:26 PM

I just turned down a WRB BRZ from Broadway Subaru in Oakland. Will probably be going to the next person in line, but there's just no way I could justify that markup.

kwh3 08-15-2012 11:29 AM

if anyone has a SWP Limited manual they are going to pass on, please message me.

Darweeezy 08-15-2012 04:08 PM

I just bought an asphalt 6mt at one toyota in oakland. They have one more 6mt aphalt available for less than 25k. Ask for Kenny and say Darwin sent you.

What is the mark up from MSRP price?

PMok 08-16-2012 01:18 AM

Last I heard, OneToyota doesn't do markups. they sell at MSRP. CityScion in Daly City is the other one I heard that sells with no markups.

MSRP on the SWP BRZ Premium 6MT + Pop 1A + spoiler = $27255. Their internet price is $26655, + $389 dealer handling fee. You will have to add taxes and any license fees on top of that (no avoiding that). So it's about $211 below MSRP before tax.

They told me they will honor that price for any car ordered as well, for instance if you want a barebones BRZ no packages or options. $600 off the MSRP then add the other fees.

Hi PMOK,

How much are you paying for shipping the car from CO to CA?

I am thinking about checking it out this weekend (if they still have it). It is listed at $29,533 on cars.com. Has anyone dealt with them before (good or bad)?

Andrizzle 08-16-2012 02:14 PM

FYI guys: There should be a Firestorm FR-S available at Capitol Scion. Pretty sure it's 6-speed too. Call and ask for Tran he's the guy who notified me last night.

They will ship it for $650. Not 100% sure yet if I will ship or drive it back though. The cost of airfare, hotels, meals and gas would come out about the same, but at least I'd get a trip/adventure out of it.

Was in for an oil change at Livermore... look what came off the truck!!! :happy0180: Give them a call if you ordered from them!

A salesperson email me earlier today and asking for 1500 over, they have a WRB premium and a white limited, both MT. ( please double check these)

Livermore didn't charge me markup... but I had pre-ordered. However, they sold a GBS and a white for 1K over MSRP to walk-in customers the same day I was there.

I had a black one on order... but they called me to see if I wanted to pick up the gray early. Ended up getting the gray for MSRP! :D
