If memory serves correct, the GT-R had the Nurburgring performance parameters as a major consideration. It has arguably less braking requirements than other tracks. Sorry about the Auto Racing 101, for those who already know.


I might be way off on this because I have no track experience. About ten years ago, it took me 2 or 3 weeks to complete Supermoto GP on Xbox. It taught me a thing or two. Most importantly, contact with other competitors is disastrous. Unfortunately, with manual mode, I gave up due to my lack of coordination.


Now applying it to 4 close-wheeled vehicles, my impression is that these heavier gadget-laden cars have a line to follow to perform optimally.

No penalty for added mass? A heavier car at the track will consume more tires brakes and fuel. There's no way getting around that.

The only reason LMPs and F1 use hybrid tech these days is bc they're forced to by the regulations set forth by the governing race bodies.
