Chuckle - exactly why I've only ever tuned my car - being able to fiddle with the code versus tuning are quite distinct skills - and doing it properly also takes a lot of time (which, to be honest, I've rarely seen locally either - with a few exceptions. Slapping a car on a dyno, and jacking up boost and timing is easy to extract power. Doing it with drive-ability and longevity in mind is not.)

One of these days I really must meet the local crowd - all the BS and politics at SOCSA a couple of years back really turned me off...

Agreed - had my Forester XT tuned by Chett Meyer(ECUFlash) and all I can say is WOW. More power, more torque, stock drive-ability and a happier engine for less than what a Unichip without "tune" would have cost. Bargain!

Yeah, I've helped Chett out before with patching roms - he's one of the good guys.

Yep, I can't think of anybody else I'd trust locally, except for Pyro of course but they're a bit far.

Where can I find Chett Meyer? Always keen to learn more :D

Can get you in contact but he doesn't do 86/BRZ.

Aaaha, specialized in Forced induction. Little gained by tweaking ECU's on NA engines. Thanx anyway.

How do these gains look for a NA 86?

Ayrton 08-23-2014 04:54 AM

Great gains!

What caused the jump from 116 wkw to 139wkw? Would be nice to know Ryan :D

The coast (just kidding).

Ayrton 08-23-2014 01:49 PM

I wish!
My un-modded 86 only made 180 Nm and 116 wkw on the same dyno back in April. Terrible torque dip between 3000 & 4500 rpm, as is normal on the factory map.
