We have done a lot of testing over the last year and it's not surprise that we ended up developing a UEL. Unfotunately all the testing in the word doesn't seem to matter as much as hearsay or quotes from an outdated book (pre VVT) about exhaust design. |
Has anyone dyno'd the new tune verses the old yet? Based on the logs (cleaner/richer AFRs) I'm seeing we must be gaining a little power on the low end.

JUST RELEASED: v2.0 OTS tunes for ESC w/ 1.5 dump + OFH
Hi guys,
Thanks for all the positive feedback on these Beta maps we released last week. Now they are officially non-BETA (v1.6) as reflected on the website. No changes to the mapping, just the name. So no need to write them again to your ECU if you already did before. But more importantly, NEW v2.0 OTS ROMs (BETA tunes for ESC w/1.5 dump+OFH) are now available for USDM 6MT cars only. The big step from 1.X to 2.0 is justified by the all new maps being based on the newest B01C ROM, instead of the older A01C ROM. This new ROM incorporates the latest factory updates and should improve idle stability among other things. So if you have a 6MT, it's worth updating to the v2.0 maps. They can be downloaded HERE, last link on the bottom of the page. After writing the map to the ECU, you can verify that your new ROM's CAL ID is B01C by going to TUNING->ECU Info and looking at CAL ID. It should say ZA1JB01C there and ONLY there. You will still see your native (original) CAL ID in OpenFlash Manager software, whatever that may be (ZA1JA01C, ZA1JA00C, ZA1JA900C, etc.) With these new v2.0 OTS ESC maps, Launch Control RPM is set to 5500RPM. Flat-Foot Shift is function but disabled (RPM set to 0) for the time being. DO NOT edit these ROMs. New XDF files will be required to edit this maps. I have not released these files yet. If you attempt to edit certain tables using the existing XDF files, you may brick your ECU. So once again, DO NOT EDIT THESE ROMs. Once again, these v2.0 tunes are considered BETA. Once we get some feedback from users, they will become non-BETA. After that, we will add support for 6AT and non-USDM ROMs. Enjoy and please let me know how the new maps work for you :) Cheers, Shiv |

I just flashed to the v2.0 OTS 93oct beta map, but the calibration code on my tablet still says ZA1JA00C. Did I do something wrong? |

Here's my datalog with the v2.0 OTS 93oct map: http://datazap.me/u/tm/v20b-ofh-esc-...=0&data=2-3-11
I didn't get a chance to do several 3rd gear pulls, but there are sporadic pulls here and there in different gears, which I thought was better than nothing. |

Hey Shiv here is a 3rd gear pull on the new V2 93 octane 1.5 tune:

Datalog third gear pulls. Car feels great. I didn't get to play around with the 1.6 too much, but compared to the old tune it feels nice and smooth. Starts seem different, but haven't had any issues. Also the idle issues seemed fix, but it is weird how coming to a stop it seems to drop low then kicks back up. Haven't had a single issue though with anything it may be that I am getting picky. Also I am not hitting max boost because I swapped one of my big dump pack batteries. Hopefully it breaks in soon. |

Log of a third gear pull. Car's feeling great, although I did run into a couple issues when I first flashed. Threw the rom onto the tablet and went to flash as usual, oft asked me to turn car on and confirm, which I did (ignition on, but car not started), after some time it asked me to switch the car on again but the car was already on. I hit ok. It does it's thing then fails to write the rom to the ecu and asks me to try again... So...I go back, delete the tune off the oft and put it back on. Attempt the flash and it works this time....start the car up and it's struggling to start, wait 4 minutes then drive around the car would pull pretty well but at stop lights it would start idle hunting. Very much like the stock rom did back in the day. Unfortunately I don't have any logs of this event. So, round 3. Take the rom off and put it back on, this time I put it on slot 2 instead of 5 (not sure that matters but wth, why not) go back out, reflash the car without issue, and return with the log. What happened? :iono: who knows.. but the car's running great now. No more idle hunting, and it definitely feels smoother and a bit more refined. |

Wrong on both counts. Our Denso "AFR sensor" is a wide band and can read richer than 11.02:1. The resolution limit in this case is the software. |
