http://www.sspperformance.com/brz-fr...y-upgrade.html

"The A960E Stage 1 street strip valve body is designed for everyday street driving and weekend trips to the drag strip.

Designed to pull heavily thru 1-4th gears at redline."

Sounds awesome just need a price.

But what will it be like in full manual on a winding road?

Hey hey! I don't know what the hell that part does but for some reason i like it!

Seriously, it's very hard to find info on modifying automatics...
Even more so for torque converters...

I'm guessing majority of buyers won't full understand what each part does and the pros and cons it holds. We need lots of detail...lots and lots.

I agree, I'm new to the AT world, coming from all MT's.

I think the important question is, what needs to be replaced in order to hold ~350whp ish, and is it possible to have each gear "grab" harder? I installed a tranny cooler just in case, does it really help?

@sspkris

i feel like i may have thread jacked a little but i just wanted to put some pics and info up on the transmission itself :)

I got an auto myself when the car was released and have waited a very long time to see upgrades surface for the auto... i almost gave in and traded-in for a manual... till i ran across this thread... also if i drove to yall, would yall be able to install all the upgrades in house if i went on a vacation and i just dropped it off?

I also have an AT. 400hp turbo project will be completed in a month. I am also following this thread because I am concerned that the OEM AT will not hold up. Please continue development.

When I do these upgrades, this is exactly what I want to do - drop it off and let the expert make it better. I like to do my own installs, but I don't know enough about auto transmissions to play around.

And thanks for that link. Great info.

In for the updates.
This is my first auto tranny sports car since I learned to drive a stick in 1984... I'm hoping this old dog can learn some new tricks.

Edit: And as an added teaser for the track junkies in here. Two weekends ago I did my first HPDE event. There was a guy there who raced TTD in his manual FRS and he actually set the track record on Sunday while we were there. His only mods are suspension, tune on e85, Hoosier slicks and a drop in air filter. Anyway, we got to shootin the shit and I offered to let him test drive our auto on the track. We went out with the HPDE4 group and tossed around for about 6-7 laps and he impressed the hell out of me seeing what our car can do basically stock except for our wheels and Michelin PSS.

To quote Hal in the pits after the session, "I wouldn't want to face one of our cars if it was built and had an auto - I couldn't be competitive against it."

He set my goal and direction for me with that one sentence. :)
