I've driven 2 AP1 S2000's. Neither in a track environment. But I will say that it's a more capable car than the 86 stock. But that's reflected in the price of entry brand new. The Honda was in the low to mid 30 thousand range, and the FR-S/BRZ are (natch) 25-28k. Definitely a more focused car too, but the twins were meant to be an affordable entry level sports car a la the AE86, so the car was built to spec.

I think the S2000 brakes and turns in (compared to a stock BRZ) better stock for stock. To me the transmissions are equally good. And of course it has a more powerful engine and wider tires.
So yeah, as far as numbers go the Honda is better.

At the end of the day though, the new 86 ends up being a more fun car. There's no snap oversteer like the S2k (which I got to experience lol); so you can slide around without much fear of hitting a tree.
