The difference in Canada is we are being told they will be black. If they show up red like the US, people will be pissed off. If they show up black and the person is expecting Red, the dealership will tell them that they did not do enough research and that the seats coming to Canada were never advertised as Red. The difference is in how they establish what the consumer will get in a final product. Right now they haven't established that what we are getting will be Red. It's Black. When it comes to Moto Trend, its the same story. Unless Moto Trend has established that the seats in Canada will be red, you can't really be angry / dissapointed. The whole idea here is establishing what the Canadian buyer will be getting. Also you may want to see the photos on the Canadian website as well as reading my thoughts on why they are black. It's not just the reps which make me think its black. Its the logic behind why www.scion.ca shows the seats as black. bneale |

You do make a valid point that it could be easier to recover from the media adds with the fine print. |
Click the helmet icon on the left hand side to see the interior photos.
I'm betting that it was way too much work (possibly even money) to completely re-do the entire flash animation so they just left it as is and posted the correct interior shots instead. I think they had to take photos from every angle of the car and then stich them together in flash. I can't see them doing this twice especially since they would have only had a prototype model to work with just like what we saw at the Canadian Autoshows. The prototypes have all had red seats. That would also explain the reveal in LA also. bneale |

I think someone clarified later that they did in fact say the stiching was red on the wheel. bneale |

^ That makes sense, but the seats are very black, so to some extent I share the concern mankarn86 has about a "murdered" interior.

I would trade the red accents for grey.

From the pictures and videos on www.scion.ca, you can see red or black stitching seats, but the steering wheel and the doors all have red stitching. Now, since this is shot with pre-production model, as claimed on their website, anything is possible and can be changed.
Again, based on the Japanese trim model, the all black trim is for G or the RC trim, and the red trim is for the higher GT/Limited model. So suppose we get all black "murder out" trim, we should demand them to lower the charges since it is lower trim (cheaper). But well, we also get heated mirror so one down and one up. Who knows. :iono: |

THANK GOD NO RED BOLSTERS. It was the only thing preventing me from buying the FR-S.

I thought I was picky! |

I have already pre-ordered the FR-S and the purchase will depend on the test drive of the car... I will consider a lot of things such as the look of the car, interior comfort, drive quality and quality of the interior materials. I want the FT86 interior because of the dual/auto climate and better knobs, but I don't want the BRZ front. I dont like the mustache. life is hard for such a picky person. lol. |
My dealer emailed me today. Apparently there was a dealers meeting April 15. He said the car has red accents. Not sure if that means seats or not.
