OpenFlash, TunerPro, and ECUFlash are not open-source. They do not grant access to the source code of the applications themselves. They, however, do not encrypt or restrict what you are able to do with edited ROM files. RomRaider is completely open source. It's source code is available to all those that may want a copy.

I am really watching how all of this develops... ECUtek is awesome, but being locked and at the mercy of a tuner can really turn into a horrible situation so FAST....

Ask any of the Visconti and other tuners customers waiting a month or more for any type of response, let alone a real look at their logs and a real file update.

Correction, ecutek WAS awesome, now it's the most expensive and least flexible option on the market :)

ecuflash isn't open source, romraider is.

Thank you! I just donated. Love to see more work on open source tuning tools.

Once you release a beta it's impossible to remove it from the internet so we want it to be problem free. He's hoping to have something ready to post here in the next few days.

You have yourself a good tuner. I am happy with my tuner, but I am a tuner myself at heart, and I want a crack at tuning my own car.

I ordered mine before the rush. (The one I have is a v1.1 that was really only good for my 04 WRX)

The good part is that all our local Subarus are open source tuned by Anthony @ Drunkmann Tuning so I can easily unload the cable when I am done with it.
