I had to try pretty hard to break traction/lose control in this:

The fun and safety is worth every penny :D...not to mention I felt like there was more control with all the driving aids off.

Which ones are those?

Go get a charge account at shwab. I can charge up to 3 grand and I can't even get a car loan.... (bought my car with cash) I need to stop buying things with cash and get some credit....

Drove my car in 6" of snow in that little storm we got after sandy. Did not get stuck but I took my time getting around, had a blast driving in the snow. I'm still running OEM shoes with no weight in the trunk (i have the spare out).

Seems like you should have thought about that before you bought a car that was RWD, lite and saw built to drift........

Indeed.... I'm thinking an old pickup would be cheaper then winter tires....

"i want my AWD back" so trade the car in for a wrx. you obviously are not happy w/ RWD.

I said this was the first time I missed my old Subaru... That doesn't mean I'm not happy

Quebec has a snow tire law so I have 4 Yokohama snow tires on my car. Knew when I bought my car that I would drive it year round but I also have the luxury of working from home and staying home in snowstorms. Safety needs to be #1!!!!!!

+insurance, gas, upkeep on a second vehicle. And if the pickup doesn't already have snows on it it's going to need tires as well. 4wd pickups are going to come at a premium as well, and really aren't the best in snow because there's so little weight over the rear.

Just buy some tires.
