Just saw this thread. ME and Physics dual here, but now I work as an EE writing old school C on in house designed PCBs lol. School was just a piece of paper, once in the real world you do what makes the company the most money :)

I got my BSCS in '06 worked for Xerox, did some C++ but mostly C sharp and ASP.net on the front end of their print/fax apps interfaces...if you get 5 yrs into this field there are serious money 6 digits salary out there for you....but in return, you have to put up with long hour days, working weekends, tight deadline projects, lot of stress....a little over a yr, I quit switched over to IT, got a system/network admin job untill now....$$$$ is a bit less but also less work less stress and everything else....I wouldn't go back but then it's just me....

School is just a piece of paper but the concepts and knowledge you get from there are valuable....cant hang onto a job without fundalmental....i'm talking about a real technical job....

I am a Mechanical Engineer with a biomedical minor. Just have this semester to go and I'll have my bachelors. Will be taking the FE in april too. I can't wait to get out of CU boulder!

I got a buddy of mine who is an engineer and every time someone ask him what kind this is his reply, "I'm an engineer of LOVE!".
