Unfortunately I cannot keep it running, runs for a few seconds and dies. Did not have a MAF hooked up. MAF Arrives today along with the O2 sensors, rest of the exhaust parts, LS2 knock sensors, clutch linkage parts, and the shift knob adapter. Hopefully by friday the intake piping will get here so I can figure out why it wont keep running and place the MAF in the piping.

VATS?

kurty85 09-19-2017 01:59 AM

It was removed by PSI when they built the harness. They removed vats, rear 02 sensors, emission controls, Lowering of Cooling Fan Temperatures, Updates for correct gear ratio and tire size.

Vats has to be disabled in the ECU as well. It's not in the harness.

Thats what i meant. They configured the ecu and removed it.

Hi! was planning on doing this swap, I was wondering who did your harness for you? and was it the 4.8 harness, or a custom integrated harness? I'm a little intimidated by the wiring side of this swap but everything else seems simple. Thanks!

The harness was made by PSI. It was not too bad installing it. Couple hours max. Main issue I had was the scion ecu not letting the engine crank. I bypassed the ecu. Working on building the y-pipe yesterday and today. Used my 3" fullblown exhaust up to the 2.5x2 to 3 collector and was able to get one side all the way up to the passenger side manifold. Cutting 45's for the drivers side to clear the steering shaft. Still waiting on the manifold collector pipes from vetteworks then I can weld everything up. The maf arrived and intake piping, but I ordered everything in 3.5" thinking that the trailblazer ss throttle body was 88mm. The throttle body is quite a bit bigger and fits a 4" coupler. Pus the MAF has two different sides on it, one 4" and one 3.75. I think I'm going to delete the MAF and run SD. HP tuners can turn it off and turn off the fault codes off too. Anyone run in SD before?

Yes my vette runs sd and the frs will be the same.

Was it easy to setup? The only reason I want to run it is because I hate MAF's. The MAP sensor is much more accurate and everything is simplified and I don't have the piping or couplers right now to run the MAF.

precisely why i ran SD and got rid of the maf. Also when you get in the upper horsepower range, the Maf can be a restriction.

maf is maybe a little better daily driving but doesnt make a difference for me.

Working on the exhaust lately, got half of it done. Finishing the other half tomorrow. Redid a lot of the wiring. Moved the battery back forward. Too much loss from too small a cable in the trunk. Have very good voltages now when cranking. Redid all the grounds too. 0 Gauge cable from the battery to starter mount. Grounds from the battery to the frame. Grounds from the cylinder heads to the frame. Voltage is a steady 11.4V when cranking. Also replaced the battery because the old one even when fully charged would not crank the engine. Found a set of ls2 injectors for cheap to replace the truck injectors I was using. They should be here tues/wed, Then I will attempt to run it again. Also figured out a place to mount knock sensors on the block instead of the valley. Looking forward to next week when I can drive the car.

all4spl 10-07-2017 11:35 AM

why would you place knock sensors on the sides of block vs the valley?

Because i have an ls2 harness but the block is a 4.8. Hp tuners will allow you to change the type of sensor. I wanted to have an e40 ecu for canbus capability.

all4spl 10-08-2017 10:59 AM

Gotcha. Yes if youre using e40, you have to anyways as the wiring is different. i looked for the longest time on how to use valley knock sensors with an e40 pcm and couldnt find anything.
