I'm so glad you all did not crash today! Interesting, though, how many of these posts tended to be young guys crediting their good fortune to not having to deal with "elder" drivers. I'd be curious to discover the percentage of young vs. older drivers who end up crashing their cars. I'm pretty sure I'm one of the older drivers on this forum and it's been a long time since I was involved in a crash. Still paying the higher insurance rates, though. Just sayin'...

My post wasn't an attack of the elderly if that's what made you think that. I think it's two extremes of both the new younger drivers and the real old ones that create the most avoidable mistakes. Everybody can make a mistake and cause an accident but the new drivers are doing it because they are new(immature) and don't realize the responsibility they have and how much power they hold behind the wheel and how easily they could kill themselves or others. The elderly most likely fully understand that responsibility but just don't have the reaction time, vision, hearing, awareness of surrounding, etc so they're actually more dangerous and more aggressive testing would probably remove a lot of them from the road and make it safer for the rest of us. Same thing with the younger drivers, no retaking the test immediately after failing. If they were penalized just the same and had to successfully pass after an extended wait time after taking the test and failing, they would probably take driving more seriously. Not that the 20-60 year old crowd are perfect and many of them would probably be failing too. I do know when I was younger I made way more mistakes in driving and would never do the stuff now that I did back then. I also know there will a point that I will get where I am a danger to myself and others. I won't want to be the one to decide to keep myself off the road so having the government make that decision would be much easier and better for the other drivers on the road when that time comes. Also the old people should be made into soylent green and be fed to the young.

Ditto. Ive been hit by both so yea lol no offense to the 'older drivers on here' cuz u only get good with experience, experience equals time, time equals years ... possibly lol but if ur in the unlucky bunch tht have floaters or cataracts or have a dx of es dementia , es Alzheimer's, and any other diagnoses tht afftects u to not be able to comprehend /remember/see/or follow the basic rules of the road. U should not be allowed to drive nd thts y i agree tht the exams at the dmv should have a smaller gap in between visits after a certain age, just like mammograms. Aand no offense to the 'young drivers' shit ive only been driving for 5 years, im a noob too nd i too like to be reckless every so often but dammit do it wisely... To where noooobody or no property gets damaged unless.. its ur own property then ok u deserved it for being a dumbass lolso yea just wanted to add my 2cents before ppl think im out here hating old ppl with disabilities while attemping to do a donut in la traffic while on my cellphone tryna be cool hahahhaha ✌😂

I think when people say "elder drivers"they mean like 80+ who can't hardly walk... or see... or hear...or remember their kids names... or where they were going to start with

Hey I will drive circles around you. If I could find my keys and remember where I parked the car.

Oh hey is this a suppository in my ear? Wonder where I put my hearing aid then?

Well I drove fast (haha in before FRS's are not fast) to work today. My new job location requires lots of highway driving. @Tcoat how is it I still only get 12L/100kms on the highway now?? back on topic I did not crash

I don't want you to drive circles around me... I want you to drive in a reasonably straight line away from me

It doesn't matter when you reset it. Just push the damn button already!

LOL I think they should replace the fuel economy feature with something like average RPM or time spend at WOT
