I work at Soin hospital here in Beavercreek and heard about this car through your wife. Hyped to see all of this work done in such a short time. Recently purchased a 2013 FR-S and I am highly considering a swap once my boxer blows up. It's a constant fight between LS and 2JZ. |

What alternator bracket and alternator are you using? Corvette spacing for serpentine belt and balancer?

Dont remember which alternator bracket, its the third one I've bought, its works for multiple spacing setups depending on spacers used. I had make a rod-end style tensioner from below. A/C is holley mini-sanderson unit. https://print.spitsnaugle.com/img/s/...65916331-5.jpg |

That looks perfect!

Used a mityvac to bleed the system through the reservoir, took a few attempts but worked fine. Used a shorter russell 18" straight 3AN to 90* 3AN line, perfect length with a touch to spare. Noting this in my parts list first post. https://print.spitsnaugle.com/img/s/...09590115-5.jpg https://print.spitsnaugle.com/img/s/...09590114-5.jpg Wide shot of the near-complete engine bay: https://print.spitsnaugle.com/img/s/...09590120-6.jpg Need to figure out where/how to mount an inline thermostat around here: https://print.spitsnaugle.com/img/s/...09590112-6.jpg |
Came out great. Let's reconvene and tweak the design so we can get some made for the community!
If anyone reading this wants to see something different with the adapter plate, let Joel or I know so we can get something that will work for everyone! |
Got the idle smoothed out a bit, tidied up wires, started re-assembling the interior.
Waiting on a quote from a local drive shaft shop that can do a 5 day turnaround vs the driveshaft shop's four weeks. I provided a Strange Engineering chromoly slip yoke for the trans with 1350 spicer joints, they found a flange for the rear dif using 1310 spicer joints, and should be getting back with me today for the rest of the 3" aluminum shaft. Meanwhile, enjoy the ear candy below, though this thing needs a tune: [ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CR2dQ0D1sr0[/ame] |
Local shop is working on the drive shaft. Should be done in two days from now.

Got my radiator lines sorted: https://print.spitsnaugle.com/img/s/...19796413-5.jpg Finished up the wiring around the fuse box. I am using an Meziere electric water pump, I added a terminal and fuse in the box and hid the wiring along the factory loom. Flipped my throttle body upside down, was having hood clearance issues: https://print.spitsnaugle.com/img/s/...19793015-6.jpg |
Picked up the driveshaft. Got the radiator filled up. Went to install the driveshaft and realized this spot interferes with the U joint.
https://print.spitsnaugle.com/img/s/...23934736-4.jpg So I'll be dropping the exhaust tomorrow and cutting that out. Only other remaining to-do's: Vacuum Lines Install lightweight battery (waiting on it to arrive) |
Whatch the other bolts in the tunnel too, parking brake etc.

I’m interested too for the master bracket.
