I just hardwired my V1 into the wiring for my auto dimming mirror and it powers up with the car and off with the car with the cord running up behind my mirror and into the headliner :happyanim:

- Installed the two underbody rubber plugs that my dealer forgot to install during PDI. You might find these in your glove box (like I did).
- Enabled the factory alarm system. - Added 50ml of 2-stroke oil to fuel tank to kill the angry DI pump crickets. - Ordered Perrin crankshaft pulley. - Attempted to install Cusco drift button -- don't think that's going to happen. No instructions and our e-brake design doesn't allow for easy removal of stock button. |

Drove 8 hours on interstates. Decided that's a little far for me.

As for the plugs, I remember seeing it here and checked my glove box for the baggy. The plugs go over the holes used to tie-down the car during shipping (I guess). They are about 6" from the side of the car on both sides and about 6 to 12" in front of the rear wheels. Link: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7204 |

Btw if anyone with a auto dimming or mirror with homelink is interested in hardwiring their radar detecter I bought a cord from Invisicord (http://invisicord.com/osc2/catalog/p...products_id=31) and it's extremely easy to do! I will post pictures and a quick writeup in the DIY section tomorrow when it's light out.
I bought the 12" cable which I thought would be long enough but it barely reached to where I have my V1 mounted so I would recommend getting the 16" wire and tucking anything you don't need. I'll post pictures where my V1 is positioned as well so you can get an idea of the wire length needed. |
