from what I've read, once you open them they start absorbing moisture from the air. Which in turn reduces the boiling point of the fluid, and makes it less effective. If you keep the bottle tightly closed it might last a few weeks longer, but you definitely don't want to store it around and use it months later.

The general rule of thumb is it's perfectly good to use within a year.
Many point out that the master cylinder container is exposed to much more air than a capped bottle and the oem maintenance for that is 2 years.

4 Sumitomo HTR-Z II tires with 1500 miles on them and in fantastic shape. 225/40-18. They came on a set of wheel I purchased and they are too small for my Forester. The original owner purchased them less than 6 months ago. All have even tread 7 to 8/32. I will post the requisite pic to show I own them in the morning when its light out. $250 picked up in Walnut Creek or Brentwood.
