Glad to know the members here look out for eachother - also very glad that the ISF owner seems to be manning up to what he did. Sucks he had to be called out to do so, though!

Such a good story -

here, here

chenshuo 12-20-2012 11:00 AM

after reading this i'm definitely looking into getting a dash cam for my car.

How does it work though? How can you record this when your car is parked on the street? Do you need the car to be turned on inorder to record?

I am pretty sure they went over this in the thread, but basically the camera is hard wired and has flash memory. It is constantly recording, but only writes when their is motion or you can set it for a shock setting which then records 5 seconds before and some amount of time after the shock occurs.

Good story
Now dash cam is in my wish list

It can foretell an impact!?! Ill take a dozen!

deucethemoose 12-20-2012 11:48 AM

No, it is ALWAYS recording, and always writing over itself UNLESS there is motion or shock, then it will store the recording.

zaptorque 12-20-2012 11:50 AM

FT-86 story of the year perhaps?

I agree! I came from a Honda forum and noticed the people here are a lot friendlier and helpful. Glad to be part of this brotherhood :happy0180:

I just thought it was ironic that he had a post about how upset he was that someone hit his car and ran, and a month later does the exact same thing to someone else. I'm sure he's not a bad dude or anything, and I'm sure other people in his position probably would have done the same thing. I'm just glad we caught him, and he seems to be doing the right thing by sorting things out with the OP in private. I will say this though, if I am ever in a situation where I hit a parked car (knock on wood) I'm definitely leaving my contact info. Internet Justice is a bitch.

u guys misunderstood me.. I"m not saying he was not the same dude that did it.. I'm just saying for those who thought his post was about this incident and turned it around and said someone scrapped him and ran off... i know some people don't pay attention to the dates.. Thats why i stated that he might make a habit of hit and run.

and yes the irony.. if some1 did hit his car and ran, i'd assume that he knows how it feels to be the victim yet he goes and do it...

well, he has to man up ..he caught red handed.. now he's trying lessen the consequences haha would be extremely stupid for him to try to deny now and not do anything about it.. i say don't bother talking to him anymore and go straight to insurance:thumbup:

Jayde 12-20-2012 06:02 PM

Good job guys! Glad this guy was found!

Great story, good to see members helping each other out!

Hello all,

Once again thank you for the help! I have spoken with the owner and was pleasantly surprised to find that he seems like a really nice guy who simply made a mistake. Once we were in touch he was very forthright and honest and apologetic. Everything has been handled correctly. I've removed the video and will ask the mods to sanitize the personal information in this thread now that everything has been resolved.

JesseE and Celica, and everyone else, again, thank you for putting us in touch.

I've received many PMs about which camera system I'm using. Feel free to continue to do so, but I'll put an ebay example here:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/ITRONICS-ITB...item3ccc198cce

That's one of a few sellers.

Kilzod 12-21-2012 05:06 PM

Congrats to the conclusion of your problems! Glad to know he will take care of his mistake once and for all. Good luck with everything!

Dave-ROR 12-21-2012 05:28 PM

Cleaned up the thread per the OPs request. Glad that he got caught and will pay for the damages and I hope he has learned a lesson in case this ever happens again.
