Aye. They made 2500 of them. Retail was 27,495 for the MT. The BRZ limited was also 27,495, according to autoblog.

Except the Series 10 does not have leather or heated seats. I think that is the only real difference, besides the spoiler design and lighted emblems.

My car was made April or May of 2013 - can't remember precisely. Dunno when first owner bought it or how much they paid.

I got it in August of 2015 and paid something like $20,500 before tax, registration, and dealer stuff. So it had around a 30% drop in price. That's with 26K miles on the clock.

I'm not entirely following this conversation, but maybe this helps to add some clarity?

They appear to be going for a median right now of about 16k.

The 2014 Monogram appears to be going for 17k.

Reference:https://cargur.us/k_F49
  • 2014 Monogram Series Average Depreciation (~17k USD): 37.956%
  • 2013 Series 1.0 Used Average Depreciation (~16K USD): 41.8076%

Edit: Found it!

Eh, well, I dunno about those trims. According to KBB, with 'good' quality my Series 10 is work $9-11K on trade in with 60K miles.

I am using actual used car prices in the market, not assumed values. That is from Nation-wide searches and averaging the results I found with varying mileage of those 60k and under (actual market yield).

As stated, a rough estimate.

^^ I like the blue-ish color in that pic.

However the one pic of a real life sedan looks like the same color as on my wife's 2015 legacy..and while it looks good i don't feel like paying more for it and a few badges.

ichitaka05 02-08-2018 02:52 PM

I was kinda hoping for like orange or purple aka Plasma Blue Pearl.

BUT I wanna see it in person how this blue looks

Ya there is almost no point in looking at colours in pictures. I wasn't at all sold on the light blue until I saw Veolist's car in real life. It makes a massive difference when you can see how the light interacts when you change angles, how the interior and trim contrast with the paint and of course what the real colour (that has not been altered by a screen) looks like. Once all those things are considered the hyper blue is actually really nice.

mazeroni 02-08-2018 03:12 PM

It does look a little plain, but it appears to really lighten up under bright lights. Not sure what is going on in the press shots. They look drab.

That orange on a BRZ would look

FitchAlcyone 02-08-2018 05:33 PM

I know this sounds silly, but I was hoping for some sweet exclusive silver PP wheels on the 50th BRZ. It'd be like Series.Yellow all over again.

I agree. On screen I found the HyperBlue to be just ok. I saw one a couple weeks ago in the wild and that color really pops!

dowroa 02-08-2018 07:32 PM

I would have preferred it if they just put a big american flag on it, personally.

In my opinion, the color is just weird and made more for a 90s Camry.

There's literally that exact car parked down the street from my condo lately. Exact year and color!

RIP, Garfield... :( But yeah, after wrapping my fiance's '18 WRX to match her totaled '13, we're probably going to do the BRZ next.

I found this one awhile ago and fell in love with everything by the fenders:

Oh I do agree that, need to see it in person to actually understand the true color. A lot of photos posted online have totally different colors. That’s why I’m hoping SOA will send me one lol

Joke a side. Look at this. Official SOA photo looks so dark.
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e2f103efdb.jpg

While someone look photo at Chicago Auto Show. It looks a lot lighter
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...feffef64c7.jpg

I’ll wait & see how it looks in person... but still, I’m kinda bummed at the color. They should of went a bit more unique.

It looks nothing like the Chicago Auto Show. That image from the Chicago Auto Show is going to set up a lot of people (who aren’t already) for disappointment.

SOA’s official image is too dark.

It’s 93% close to Mazda’s Bluish/Green color from 2011 Mazda3’s.

I saw the color in person yesterday ( on a wrx), indoors but got a good feel for the color. It was decently nice . If I was in the market for a new car, I'm not so sure I'd go for it though ( in general, I'm more of a white, gray metallic fan )

A question for our dealership folks here: Is the timeline for the 50th editions still early March? It looks like the only products left to arrive for 2018 are these and the Type RAs.

Yes. Actually Type RA’s, 50th Anniversary BRZ’s, and a under half of the tS’s still remain on pipelines with ETA of month of April and they have yet to be assigned a VIN.

FitchAlcyone 03-01-2018 12:43 PM

Thanks for the info! I guess I have a little more time to fluff my down-payment some.

FitchAlcyone 03-13-2018 06:13 PM

Is anyone else going for one of these? The color indeed does look a little "plain" on a regular level, but I've combed through several 50th model videos and it looks like there is a good level of depth in the color. One of my favorites is this one of an STi:

[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rKu4zpMMNY8"]Is the 2018 Subaru WRX 50th Anniv Edition WORTH the money? - Raiti's Rides - YouTube[/ame]

With that said, my dealership is getting one Heritage BRZ and they've converted it to a sold order for me. We're adding Popular Package 3 and doing $1,000 off MSRP.

We have a WRX among the other main models and the color has definitely grown on me, and it gets a lot of compliments from the floor traffic at our store. Don’t forget they are only making 250 of them so it will be the rarest factory color on a BRZ in the world.

Related;
It’ll be interesting to see whether a 50ae or tS is considered rarer. On one hand, there’s 250 50ae’s vs 500 tS’s, on the other hand, there’s 250 50ae’s vs 225 WRB tS’s, 170 Crystal white tS’s, and 105 Crystal Black tS’s. It doesn't really matter though, they're both unicorns.

I'll be quite jealous of the 50th AE, it's my favorite 86 twin color so far. Please post pics of your unicorn as soon as it arrives!

FitchAlcyone 03-22-2018 11:53 AM

Pictures will indeed follow! Judging by the crickets (too soon?) on this topic, I feel like there may be a good amount of these picked up by general folks that won't find their way on here.

@Veloist With your magical ways, have you seen if these (or any of the other remaining 2018 special runs) have moved any further in regards to production? I know I can call Subaru, I just... haven't.

For the 50th Anniversaries, over 100 have VINs already and most have ETAs on April 9th.

FitchAlcyone 03-22-2018 05:34 PM

Oh wow, good to know! I probably should go ahead and get my VON checked, then.

If mine happens to be one of those already VIN'ed up, it just so happens I'll be on vacation during that timeframe. This'll be a nice welcome back package waiting for me. :)

Edit: Called SoA after work yesterday. No VIN just yet, still a delivery showing "month of April."

Hey everyone,

It seems the 50th anniversary BRZs have started arriving in Southern California; I just got a call from my dealer that the one I reserved got in last night!

Unfortunately I'm away on business for a couple weeks so won't be able to pick it up until after.. Super excited though- I've been wanting this car for years!

Edit: I asked for pictures, and will be sharing them when I get them!

Very awesome! Do share them when the pics get to you; you'll probably be one of the first online to have posted them. :)

I think everyone here will agree with you, the car is worth it!

Here's the one I got from the dealer today- shipping materials are staying on until I take delivery. The next couple weeks till I can pick it up are going to be agony!

I'm really into the color- I was originally torn between white and world rally blue, but this is definitely my favorite now.
