Revolution garage rear solid bushings also installed. these, like the SPOON Rigid Collars, transformed the car. a lot less vibration and movement at the rear end of the car now.

look how precisely the piece is machined to follow the contour lines...

Alignment done at West End. Car feels really good, especially under braking. Alignment specs (with me in the car): front: -1.5 camber 6 degrees of caster, 0 toe. rear: -1.3, -1.5 (OEM spec) camber, 3/32nd toe in for stability.

22B STI horn button for a Nardi steering wheel came in! From Philippines! Lost sleep trying to track this thing down, and even after I have placed an order I was afraid I got scammed haha.

there`s a small blemish, but I expect it wouldnt be in mint condition.. afterall it`s over 10 years old!

will probably pair up with this steering wheel:

I am speechless that this intake is in my hands :) only true ram air design for frs/brz platform. Crappy cellphone photos do not do justice for this piece.. Can't wait till I install it! I will be doing a before/after dyno. This intake is more about keeping the horsepower under high stress conditions (according to some Japanese reviews, every 1 degrees Celsius you lose 0.7hp), but just want to see if it actually makes any difference.

being looking @ spoon RIGI COLA & end up here. Gotta say I love everything you are doing with the car & your philosophy behind how you mod this platform. KEEP it up.

Everything I did since I own the car made it feel better & I want to keep it that way :D (maybe not my cat back...lol)

PS:pretty much all the photo on 1st page is dead. ;)

my day started with putting in the new transmission fluid. what a PITA to pump all the fluid in... :(
https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...85&oe=56A6E18D

after doing the maintenance stuff, fun stuff begins. bumper needs to come off for the Gruppe-M intake install. I had been debating on removing the windshield washer fluid reservior for maximum weight savings, and I was glad to confirm that it was a whopping 11.6 lbs of weight, all on the nose of the car. hopefully the polar moment of inertia improves with removing this. more trips to gas stations now to clean the windshield i suppose :).
https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...e1&oe=56A0FC04
https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...ac&oe=5662AD7B

generic K&N filter is used for the intake. needs to be cleaned and oiled.
https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...72&oe=56AB64A5

cleaned, dryed, and oiled.
https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...b5&oe=5670A36F

weight of the intake. total of 9.28lbs + aluminum brackets (.5lbs roughly): 9.78lbs.
https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...cf&oe=5669882A
https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...fb&oe=566D10B4
https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...49&oe=566ED25A

weight of the OEM intake. No idea what the snorkel weighs.. we`ll just say 0.5lbs. total of 6lbs.
https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...31&oe=56A5193F
https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...40&oe=569E4DFA

first test fitment of the box.
https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...c4&oe=56734AB8

driver's side of the intake gets attached to the bracket on the engine block. I did not have to drill any holes to install this intake.
https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...50&oe=569FB53A

passenger side installs with the bracket attaching to the dip stick.
https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...5f&oe=56A6A5D7

driver's side snorkel attaches to the top of the bumper beam. there are 2 strips of 3M adhesives behind the snorkels to attach to the bumper beam.
https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...be&oe=56AAB03B

passenger side snorkel attaches to this L bracket. the bottom side of the L bracket that gets installed onto a hole on the bumper beam uses a expanding rubber screw. very very slick stuff.
https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...56&oe=56A4C656

fitment is tight, but everything fits perfectly when installed.
https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...be&oe=565E19AE

here is what the snorkels look like with the bumper reinstalled. maybe I could have cut outs on the mustache to expose more of the snorkel to feed more air.
https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...77&oe=56700766
https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...70&oe=56676BC0

initial reactions: the top end is quite nice :). the sound isnt any louder than the greddy intake I had before, but for sure the car pulls like it is driving in the cooler days. I thought we were in the low 70s from the way it feels but today it said 78 degrees on the way in to work. I`d be interested in seeing what it can do with a proper tune.

the very first Boxer FR platform from Toyota called Sports 800. I believe this was one of the cars Toyota and Subaru looked at to design the FRZ.

After JCCS, I went over to GoTuning (specialists in Honda/SPOON) to get two nasty dents removed from my fender. It was the first time witnessing a scene of paintless dent removal, and I was amazed.

two dents in the fender being assessed...

one gone, one to go...

and they`re gone. magic!

After PDR, off came the wheels for some TLC. I`m using Winmax W5 and I daily my car (and unfortunately my car does not get washed very often), so the brake dust was caked on the wheels. I was banking on sonax to do its job.
https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...ba&oe=566995AA

Sonax working hard..
https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...63&oe=565EA191

Not all of it came off however. I tried buffing it out with a compound, still no luck. looks like the wheels are due for refinishing at this point.
https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...28842564_o.jpg

surprised to see big chunks of rubber too.. must be from track days..
https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...52509426_o.jpg

after discovering that my wheels are totally F'ed up, I`ve decided I`ll just drive on them the way they are for a while and then get em retouched. Canyon run to Ortega with some of my buddies.

Protip, to do the transmission fluid in this car, I've found that one of the sound generator tubes, hacked in half, can get from the trans all the way up to just above the strut bars. Stick a funnel in it and pour away. (2 person job, one to hold the hose, the other to hold the bottle and pour it in.)

Get the STI Bilstein shock for 2015 Brz tS :)
Lower it just a tiny bit & it's not adjustable, but it's designed for real grip/good amount of suspension travel/daily use for brz. 😘

I`ve been looking for good options... going for drives/rides in many set ups on public roads and at the track. so far I really like the Tein SRC from Counterspace garage, custom valved Bilstein double adjustable PSS10, and the off the shelf Ohlins (but this one is not as performance oriented as the other two). I`m also really interested in the Cusco 3-way (zero 3X) and I already gave up on the Penske due to price :(. JRZs are also very good but again it`s a bit out of my price range and I really prefer monotube set ups..

choices choices.. :) but this is half the fun correct?

Tein is good, STI X bilstein is actually B14 minus the adjustability (cuz STI lol), Ohlin is obviously good, most ppl got the Cusco zero 3x didn't stay with them. Just my 2 cent. xD
