This is true, and you may be right. I was under the impression that the ECU will learn habits of your driving to better suite how you drive the car. After much research it seems it may be a myth to some degree and the "learning" is more directly related to knock than throttle inputs.

I tend to drive it harder in turns / roundabouts. I actually did a 4 tire slide and kicked the back end out in a roundabout yesterday... For a second I actually thought the back end was going to give it up but then the nanny control brought it back in the end (sports mode). I'll wind it through the gears a couple times a week now that it's hit that 1000 mile mark.

I mean.. I wouldn't NEVER wind it out. Run it through first/second every now and then... Why did you buy a sports car?

I'll make sure I take extra caution when I approach a roundabout and see another BRZ.

Can't believe the stupid posts here lately. Is this the 1st car for 16 yr olds now?

Is it okay if I drive my car and never use the turn signals? I hate to run out of blinker fluid.

Time is relative, temperature is what you're looking for. The temp gauge on the dash is only for coolant, not oil temps, which can take longer.

- If the engine is cold, I prefer to let it idle for 10 sec to get fluids moving. Then start driving immediately.

- If the needle is below cold, I keep the revs as low as possible without lugging and use very light throttle.

- When the needle is above C but not to stable temp yet, I drive normally, keeping the revs from going too high or full load.

- When the needle has stabilized, I will be more agressive, but not flog it. No hard driving until after it's been at temp for at least 10 minutes. This helps ensure the oil temps are stabilized as well.

It might be real. I took this picture on the 405 freeway... the Explorer in front of me has reverse fluid.
