Fortunately, no front plate required here. I did expect to get stopped when I went up north though. figured they'd start to pull me over, then realize I was from out of town.

It is the law here, and I figure the color of my car already attracts attention... Stupid law if you ask me. Pretty sure the cops could just check with the NSA and track my car and identity if they wanted, who needs a license plate :)

In Nevada if you don't have a front plate bracket mounted on the car you don't have to have a front plate. So my dealership puts the brackets in the trunk and leaves it up to the owner. I'll run mine smooth. I might hear about it from the local law when I visit my family back in Washington state though.

im selling a RHO LICENSE PLATE RELOCATION KIT btw hahhaa... put your plates on!

Plate has never been mounted to mine. It was actually a big deciding factor for me, I wasn't willing to buy on that had one previously mounted. Why? Because the screws holding the plate onto the bracket dig into the paint on the front bumper, all of them were like that at every dealer I went to. My car was a dealer trade from 120 miles away and they had given me a due bill for a front bumper respray in case it had a front plate mounted upon arrival. I wasn't going to sign otherwise. We got lucky though and one had never been mounted.

Not usually this particular about stuff but when buying a brand new car at $26k I'm going to want it perfect

No issues with cops.

No issues with cops. If I were to get a ticket I'd just put it on there with 3m tape and tear it right off after getting signed off

Meh, we don't have these temporary fixer-up ticket things in NY.:mad0260:

Fuck ny
Not only do we have this shitty law but we also get 'gold' plates
Which the only people who like them are people like my mom that grew up in the 70's or people who don't care about how their car looks.
Ughhh
I had no idea it was 200$ for Nassau County..... Shit... Looks like I won't be pulling that off. Rather use the money for mods :)
Only i have a question, does mounting the plate in the center of the grille restrict air flow? I prefer that my engine breathes... Otherwise I'll get that tow hook mount that messes with my ocd

I assume the effect is minimal, as you probably aren't using all of the air that's being scooped at your front grill anyway. But I'm not an engineer by training (was initially, but dropped it for Economics).

4 vehicles before the FRS, never had a plate...I've had half a dozen or so fix-it tickets over the years and never done anything with them and they've never been followed up on. Fix-it tickets are on a different system than normal violations in NE - never once has a Fuzz asked about a current/previous plate violation.

Front tow hook mount. Keeps the cops away and I think it looks better than having it on the center.

Wish we had fix-it tickets here...

I live in Texas and it is required.

I dont have one and will not put one on.

I have a 2007 Toyota Tacoma pickup that has never had one on it which was my DD and never once was questioned or ticketed by a police officer.

General consensus (from a friend police officer) is that if you are not doing something that necessitates a cop to pull you over they don't really care too much about the front license plate.

That law is going away soon anyway.

I'm a rebel too, I hate front license plates and they are ugly and worthless.

I'm going a step beyond no front license plate... clear sidemarkers with white LED's, LED Fog's and LED white turn signals. After reviewing the Texas signal laws, white/amber are both legal.

My dealer looked at me with a drill and the front license plate, then looked at my car, and said, "Pretty sure you don't want this right?" lol.
